It's really interesting how I have often in the past been attacked quite harshly and accused of being a hypochondriac when I've brought this up. It seems like perhaps the people on the farms are more receptive to the idea since we've seen over and over again how badly troons have been damaged by medications and treatments that they frivolously subject themselves to under the guidance of doctors who are glad to exploit them for their own profit.

I just hope that if any of you ever have a friend or someone you care about mention thinking about going on these drugs, whether they be a troon or just a regular guy anxious about losing his hair, just encourage them to dig deeper and do some research before they do. Just like you'd check the 1-star reviews on a product you're thinking about buying, find out what the people who went before you and regret their decision have to say.

I agree that trauma is a major factor. From staring into the abyss of the lesbian dating apps, my observation goes in this order:
MTF= Fetishism, mental illness, trauma response
FTM= Trauma response, mental illness, fetishism
All elements are present in both groups in varying degrees, it’s the reason I feel pity for FTMs far more than MTFs even if they can be just as fetishizing (I’m on apps for women, so I don’t see as much of their gross fujo behavior you might on apps for gay men). The transbians wear their fetish on their sleeve, even if they’re too autistic/socially stunted to realize they’re doing it and that they’re scaring real women off.

Interesting theory, apart from this bit. Intersex is a problematic term for people with variations of sexual development for this very reason - that so many people conflate it with troonism and think that it means people can be some kind of "halfway house" between male and female.

It's not the case. People with VSDs are either male or female. A tiny proportion of them can't be sexed correctly in utero or at birth and need further investigation there and then. Most are diagnosed later either because of co-morbid complications caused by their condition or at puberty when things don't go as expected.

The rate of transexuals amongst people with VSDs is about the same as in the general population.

I couldn’t agree more. To an outside normie observer it would be even more obvious, I think. You could sample 100 profiles of real women and 5 troons, and without any photos, I’m almost positive you could spot the troons. The way they talk about women’s bodies (fetishy and creepy), the way they talk about themselves with terms like bimbo/useless lesbian that no woman would use without getting paid to, and the way they get so angry at terfs/cis meanies, and finally the fact they they are ALL fucking poly.

I'm sure there are some not-trauma induced mental conditions that could lead someone to troon out.

Since many people have noted the classic Cluster B behavior of troons, one of the more (publicly) overlooked symptoms of BPD is an unstable sense of self and perpetual feelings of emptiness. It is not unheard of for even "normal" people with BPD to do a total personality overhaul, changing everything from their hair, to their name, to their wardrobe, overnight, all in the pursuit of identity. That a person with BPD might try to fill that void by trooning out shouldn't be surprising.

A good mental health professional should work with a BPD client on finding safe ways to explore personality and identity. That so many are willing to instead sign off on permanent, life-altering, and frankly experimental surgeries, should be considered unethical and medical malpractice. And yet, here we are.

The research coming out the last few years, especially with respect to actual brain damage from dopamine metabolites, has been a little disheartening. Still, I know a few four decade + heroin users from very wealthy families and they are doing very well ... but they look notably feminized, especially the ones who also take methadone.
