I think maybe the most interesting aspect here, is that Chantal is clearly angling for a certain kind of a response. Of course it's one that relieves her of any kind of accountability, but I think it's more than that. For her to show her room as if you're on some kind of Neckbeard Nest safari is the act of a person trying to elicit so much sympathy. And we know that about her already, but I think this speaks to something a little different. She has these indulgent visions of herself, be they skinny influencer, sexy bbw, but this is the person beyond repair. Like a teenager cutting themselves but only in the most visible places (and gratuitously showing them off) this is poor, broken Chantal. Look at the severity of her depression!

I don't think her showing her room is that deep. I think she genuinely has no shame and since she has no friends outside of Peetz, doesn't realize it's not normal to have such a filthy bedroom.
