I’ll actually push back here. Autobotting anyone discussing suicide is pretty fucking callous, but if Twitter was to directly involve themselves in trying to talk people off ledges, they could be held responsible should they fail and the person necked themselves anyway. This is generally a decision where — unless it’s someone you’re personally very close to, such as a family member — then for liability’s sake, you should sever contact and refer them and the authorities to each other. If you’re going to take a mentally ill person’s life into your hands and risk having their family come after you should the worst happen, you’d better be in a position where you can personally justify any fuckups that you might make.

Clearly he killed himself because speedrunning cheating controversies turned into gay Minecraft stan shit and he didn't want to report on Dream getting caught because he'd get dogpiled by his fujoshit stans for it.
 
Apollo always gave off a depressed vibe even in his content from years ago. Instead of looking out for himself he focused on vidya game drama that is literally decades old at this point. Why does he give a shit if some opinionated aussie who plays GTA for 10 hours a day calls him scum. Instead of reaching out to people who cared about his side he went radio silent for months at a time.

They should just not do anything. Ignore it all, and just let it be. Someone tells someone to kell themselves? Ignore it. Someone says they are gonna kill themselves? Ignore it.

As for why they gave me any information before they gave it to Keem, it's because while Keem was still on Twitter begging people to give him Apollo's contact information I had already put it together and was talking to a Medford, Oregon dispatcher. I was up front that I was not personally connected to Apollo and that I was doing it on behalf of a mutual friend (Tipster). we spent time trying to narrow down what we could and it worked. We just didn't manage to prevent the suicide. The information I was given was because--and this is according to the cops--I had made an effort beyond what anyone else had done to that point to try to save his life and they wanted to make sure people knew the outcome even if they couldn't give us more information like cause of death, and I assume it's because they didn't want people like Keem hassling the family for information.

I don't watch Youtubers (except for DSP) and stay away from YouTube drama, but have seen this guy's videos. The twin galaxies guys (day, mitchell, rogers) seem like self-felating circle jerking old men trying to re live the glory days of 1982. Even in their own publication (old school gamer magazine).

Apollo legend didn't need to try so hard.
They are middle aged to old men whose claim to fame was being a top videogame player before I was even born. Why did he care about them so much? /-:
