Despite supposedly banning all political mods, someone recently created a pronouns mod so your character can be referred to as they/them etc.

Some of their more normal users tried to voice their opinions but were very quickly censored. The comment section is now locked and all comments that weren't explicitly espousing LGBTQP+ propaganda have been deleted. Unfortunately I did not screen cap them in time.

Because the users were censored from posting anything about it, users took to the tagging system to show discontent. This was noticed fairly quickly and now you are not allowed to apply certain tags to the mod (the red ones).

Link to the Pronoun Mod thread.

Several explicitly political texts of the left variety are also readily available.

In 2016, user "apollodown", creator of several popular mods at the time had a mental breakdown and removed his mods from the public in protest against Donald Trump.

This site is not new to controversy, I'll try and add and organize content as stuff is brought up. Thanks to those contributing to the discussion.

I wouldn't really call that a political mod.

And if you're against banning shit, why try to get more things banned?

Well, i remember a incident in 2016 when a fucking bad optimized mod about Skyrim's Civil War got hidden because he hates Trump.
I'm not gonna link Reddit in this, but search info in Google about "Skyrim's Civil War Overhaul"
Open Civil War is better btw

You should actually put a good OP together before you post a thread.

Honestly, the less political bs on a modding site of all places, the better. It's fucking hilarious that communist shit is still up, especially considering Nexus' recently overhauled business model and the nature of the video game industry as a whole, but the pronouns thing and those autistic "xenomorph feminist" texts or whatever seem inconsequential. All you have to do is not download it. Plus, if you still wanna use the site without monetarily supporting it in some way, just don't buy or cancel premium and use an ad blocker. Life goes on.

I totally forgot about that.

Found a screenshot of his post and an account of events.

I agree somewhat. Freedom of expression, no matter how autistic, should still be allowed on Nexus. I more or less have a problem with the sheer hypocrisy; either ban all political mods or allow all. No in-between. That being said, OP could have made a post in the thread he linked instead of making a whole new one. There just isn't enough content to justify it. Threads should have the informational equivalent of a belt-bustingly good meal. This is an oatmeal bar.

I recently wanted to download some Mass Effect mods for my less than legal copy and the site went batshit autistic.
I had to reactivate my account (why even?) And give new password. They required 12 characters, with upper lower and number case.
Like jfc it's just a mod site. I've got investments behind less of a password than that.
Their new downloading system was also incredibly obtuse and difficult to use.
Anyway that's my personal experience recently with nexus mods. Pretty sad tbh.

Once NexusMods started requiring an account to use it I stopped using it. I mostly stuck to moddb anyway, but used nexus mods to find mods because moddb hasnt moved from 2005. Most of the mod authors usually have their own sites hosting the stuff anyway.
