Holy shit, I thought I'd seen his avatar from somewhere. I haven't heard of Cryaotic in years, only found out now that he's a kiddie fiddler like the rest of them. Out of curiosity's sake I looked at his twitter and I think his pinned tweet contrasted with his most recent tweet makes for some perfect irony that I can't quite put my finger on.

Kids are worth a ton of money to random online people now because kids push their parents to buy merch and their parents also spend money on Twitch for them to shut up which translates into actual real money for the streamers/youtubers.
Youtube itself, of course pays as well and if you're getting millions of views per video then you're making a lot of money based on that alone and kids don't tend to use adblock or anything.
edit: This will explain his encouraging of an insanely loyal fanbase, because he's probably well aware that most people die off. Pewdiepie is an incredible anomaly in having a longlasting online career but even Pewdiepie has admitted relying on youtube is stupid and asking for longterm failure so presumably he has spread out his sources of income to other avenues. (I heard real estate is his main thing now?)
Take solace in knowing Dream or his ilk usually don't make it long since they're attached to trends and a young fanbase that inevitably grows up.

He also was well off to begin with, so he might have had some insider help. Mr beast and other streamers may have also boosted his views etc.
15 mil is an endorsements dream. If I was him I’d be milking the cash cow that is my YT and twitter for all I can get. He poured himself some Cheerios and it got on a trending hashtag, I would be dialing them up ASAP.

As someone that watched (because it feels like he barely uploads something anymore) since last year and saw his growth during 2020 I knew this was bound to happen, you don't get that big that quickly and get off drama free. The cheating stuff and he refusing to do something about his creepy fans stalkers is just the culmination of his success in the platform. Well Dream, you did it, this is why you studied the algorithm so much to get where you are now, this is just part of the deal, enjoy your fame.
