General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

This is kind of bizarre. What does "naked" mean here? When Amelia first mentioned it I thought she meant the shark model didn't have clothes on, but that doesn't make any sense. But if she means that Gura's roommate went on a Zoom chat or whatever where presumably management would be present without clothes on, that doesn't make sense either.
I'm guess it's the former, it makes sense to me. I have no knowledge but I'm assuming there is probably a base unclothed model and they just add all the new clothing on top of it. I doubt they remake the model each time they get their new outfits. It makes sense there would be technical glitches that need to be worked out before their debuts. I'm sure we've all seem those funny computer game glitches videos where NPCs load in with no clothing or the wrong models.

If I was Melody or at least her manager, I would have just spend some simp money to make a brand new model just to piss him off. That's also will be good since I don't think her current design is good enough if you want to go toe to toe with Cover or even Ichikara
She said a Live2D model was in the works. Right now she looks out of place among the Vshojo girls without one IMO.
That... honestly seems like a step backward. Her full 3D model is about all that is good about her. Or maybe all that is unique about her? Her h-stuff is unique as well, but I really don't think most of her audience actually watches that stuff, so they're all left with Twitch drivel. Her gaming skills are lower than my grandmother's and based on a few streams and clips that I have watched, I think she might be actually retarded. Or her character is, at any rate. Don't know how much of a character she's putting on, but god damn, she's stupid. I do have to thank her for getting me into vtubers in the first place--I first heard about them as a larger thing around the time of her debut, though I had seen a scattered Kizuna AI clip beforehand--but I can't believe people actually manage to suffer through those streams.
On one hand, yeah, the fact she's a fully-tracked anime-style 3d model is her entire selling point. On the other hand, it makes her stick out like a sore thumb when she's with the other vshojos and the extra processing power for the 3d rig might not be worth it for gaming streams or what-have-you. I had actually originally expected she would get a 2d model back when vshojo was first announced, but I can't really justify why I thought that other than just... assuming it would tie in with the redebut shit or whatever, but it just seems like it would fit in better.

Not gonna lie, when I first heard just how much her model cost her, I was appalled. Like, I guess it came with a shitton of extra stuff and features and all that, but it looks like a shitty 2014-era MMD model to me. I just really don't like it.

That seems weird too, though, because with live2d in order for something to be a working, functioning model you have to explicitly export it for runtime, and why would they export a nude model for use in runtime? I'm wondering if by 'no clothes on' they meant 'accidentally used facecam instead of the Gura model'.

Using face cam makes no sense, in the original clip Ame says something like "is Gura flat or boing boing? Only I know but can't tell. That is too much power" Remember the clip says this is before their debuts. I can see the EN girls doing practice streams with unfinished, incomplete or a glitched model, or it could be user error.

Oh shit, i forgot the Holostars' new costume reveals were today. Astel, Izuru and Shien look great so far. Oga's costume is premiering now 20210103_153204.jpg20210103_153337.jpg20210103_153341.jpg

I mean, it's possible to tell if someone's got a big chest or not when they have clothes on- and also possible that she wasn't fully dressed because she didn't expect to actually be on camera.

I should clarify why I don't think 'naked model' is physically possible- I have some minor amount of experience making live2d models. Unlike a 3d model where you have a base nude model and then model clothes on top of it, with live2d it's just drawn as seen. If you took the clothes off a model, you would be left with a floating head and arms and maybe neck/shoulders depending on what areas have exposed skin. It would be way too much work to animate a separate naked layer that you can't even see underneath clothing, so there's no reason to have it unless you want to tittystream or something, and I doubt Holo's going that route.

If it was a naked model situation it would be like Gura glitched and her torso went into the void, which would be hilarious but I don't think that's what happened.

On a completely unrelated note:

This popped up in my recs just a few minutes ago. Apparently the actual clip is from 2018, but it is a bit of a deeper side to Korone and I hadn't seen it linked here yet, so thought people might be interested.

THIS is the type of clips that i want to watch when in comes to vtuber. A tiny tidbit to give me a glimpse to their life. I am SICK of the generic horny clips, or some retarded reddit/twitch tier "meme".

This clip deepened my suspicion that Korone must have been a despicable person when she was younger. The way these memories hurt her now leads me to some interesting questions: Is it just her who needed a bit longer to grow up? Or is a societal thing? Because I know a bunch of people her age who needed into their early thirties to understand and realize emotional and social concepts that earlier generations learned in their teens, and a ton of younger people who have not learned these things yet. Or am I just biased by the people I know.

Towa's obvious audible discomfort talking about Yagoo makes me think their professional relationship may still be a bit strained
This was not my impression. She had a similar reaction to the meme shipping "overseas bros" and "JP bros", so my guess is that both memes were not up to her tastes. Combine it with Towa and Coco's personalities not being in synergy and the memes being bland and/or taking too long to translate to get a somewhat underwhelming stream.

im curious on how the Coco Meme Review work? is she let the audience know who the guest, couple days before the stream? so the redittor can prepare that suitable to each guest? or coco just randomly check from the most recent upvote? cause i feel at least in here there some joke that missed in translation or make situation bit awkward so towa just can reply "i see". or prolly it just towa personality act like that. idk much, si
Here's winning son's outfit
edit: he has a fan that says "victory" lmao

i really like ourson color pallette and for once his model artstyle make it more look than different from everyone else lol

prolly the later, since we learn and she herself admitted for being introvert, but not Pekora kind of introvert. Korone still manage to start conversation. But she is either too shy or not too bother looking another friends since she already attached to okayu, especially they already know each other even before in Hololive, and also how clingy she is when okayu come to visit her and try to keep her stay. it seems korone like acompanny, + she is more enjoy stay at home playing-- hence those 11 hour stream of assasin creed. make her not thinking much of social life.

speaking of korone, seems someone try to milk very little small thing that not even important
idk why he need to make video with no point he trying to make.

Why do you think she was 'despicable'? Not to argue really, but I'm curious about your reasoning or if you know more outside of this clip. What she said in that video came across to me more like she was a jaded, edgy-ish teenager. If she were really a bad person at that time, I don't think the memory of freezing up and not being able to do anything when an old man fell on the train years ago would still make her so emotional, especially if the guy was fine in the end anyway. I think, really despicable people don't really learn lessons from things like that, but maybe my definition of despicable is just really narrow. I don't know.

She puts up a stream starting date on YouTube and also announces it on Twitter a couple of days before the stream. People know a few days in advance that there will be a meme review and who the guest is.

Yea, she explicitly mentions that this was during middle school or early high school. I'm pretty sure anyone in their 20's and older can most likely think back at the stuff they've done when they were teens and cringe or wonder what they were even thinking. It's the same thing with people bringing up stuff Karen or Keeki did 5+ years ago, it's an unrealistic standard to hold them accountable for petty stuff they did as kids.

On the naked Gura thing: chances are she had thought she was doing an audio only test stream and only had underwear on or something, or she forgot to boot up the model and her facecam was displaying and then someone pointed out "Gura your camera's on. Put on a shirt."

On the Korone bit: people do stupid shit in their youth and shouldn't be held accountable for that if they have genuinely changed as a person. Korone being like that when younger shows she has even if she wasn't that malicious in the first place. It's why people here tend to give Kiara some slack; she kinda grew out of being bitchy Keeki and even then the circumstantial evidence point out she was more stupid than manipulative, although she is overly emotionally sensitive to a point. Karen's an odd one because her dumbshit moments were much more recent and she will probably always be a mall goth.

Anyway, apparently the ratking has gotten off on a laughably bad foot to start this year and the main domo account got banned by Twitter. I only found out because some of the cabal got a hashtag trending.
