Never played much C&C until Generals came out. Me and my brothers played a shit ton of that along with BF:V on LAN. Really enjoyed 3, though didn't play much RA3.

Picked up the C&C Remastered set and it's been pretty fun rolling through NOD with a ball of Mammoths. Hoping they continue to remaster these games.
I'm definitely strongly hoping we see a remaster of Red Alert 2 at least.

Speaking of Frank Klepacki, I love this relative obscure remix of the Red Alert track "Mud".

Edit:

If they remaster Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2, I'd die from sheer happiness.

That would have a great multiplayer scene. Something similar to AoE2.

diablo 2, the sims and red alert 2 were my all time favorite games on a the pc. its sad all of them have gotten fucked into the dirt. can you still run red alert two on a modern windows 10 pc?

RA2 is one of my favorite games ever, it's probably the only old style C&C that kinda holds up. Hope it gets the C&C1&RA1 remastered treatment. They should have the cutscenes for it unlike the older games. Atleast, I hope.

TBH, breaking down C&C per series is a pretty inaccurate way of looking at it. A more reasonable way would be 2D vs 3D, or maybe Westwood games vs EA Pacific/LA, because Generals onwards the "C&C" games don't really feel like the old games. Old style C&C games were basically the same game too, C&C1 and RA1 (and D2K) feel like (and are nearly) the same game, C&C2 and RA2 feel like the same game, and are also like the prior entries, just isometric instead of top down. Similarly, C&C3 and RA3 feel the same as Generals, and nothing like the old games outside of superficialities.

Ra:2 came out during the golden age of pc gaming and in terms of what it is, is probably 'perfect'.. it's quite interesing how quickly the quality slides as Ea's influence really sets in. For example it's painfully obvious Red Alert 3 was ineligant attempt to wedge into the multiplayer scene.

I would lovr for a Generals remake on a idea similar to dawn of war, amp up the crazy factor make it more violent!

Only if they skip the pussy-ass flashbangs and microwaves for the USA and go right to concussion rounds (totally different thing) and flame weapons. Fucking Chink bastards getting all the good stuff...

To be fair the microwave was pretty metal
I remember frying infantry with it.

Which is ironic since they don't do that IRL. They're just an agonizer that causes MASSIVE PAIN but no actual damage.

Flashbangs are fucking broken, easily the best anti-garrison weapon.

Yes, but that doesn't change the fact that if the Rangers are chucking an M203 through grenade through your window, chances are it isn't a less-than-lethal projectile like that. Hell, we don't even make flash-bang rounds for 40mm launchers. Only tear gas, but somehow I don't think chucking that at Angry Mobs is a good match for what EA was going for. Even if the mobs have been upgraded with AK-47's M16's for Everyone.

Well, the closest thing that it has to a flashbang is the one filled with buckshot. Everything else is either airburst or high explosive, since phosphorus is banned from being used in actual combat and there's a wide variety of short-lived illumination rounds and smoke signals.

Buckshot isn't a flashbang at all, but is merely a German's worst nightmare as a 40mm shotgun. And WP isn't banned. Just restricted for purposes such as illumination, marking, and demolition work away from civilians. Of course, the USA and all its lawyers is very good at making sure we're technically compliant with its regulated uses, at least enough that nobody feels like arguing it against us before an international tribunal. We did quit using it in urban combat though for the most part, mostly because its a bit too effective at burning things, especially if there's a sudden wind shift back towards our own men. That said when shit hits the fan and you don't really have a lot of options... its pretty much the world's greatest get-your-men-out-of-jail-alive card.

Good thing the Taliban didn't have toxic tractors, the loss of Afghanistan would have been more embarrassing.
Well, the minute the toxin tractors get deployed, the USA retaliates with its own WMD's. A chemical is a disease is a nuke is how things go when it comes to these things, so yeah. I mean, yeah nuking the whole place would be an improvement but...
