Dr. Who

Michael Sheen would be amazing as 14, but I can't see them casting him for some reason. He's not a Tennant or Smith, he's already high profile.

The next actor cast for the role will definitely not be a white man: it would be a boring and widely condemned move. If the show does come back in a year I'm hedging for Michaela Coel. If there is a multi-year hiatus, or the franchise is licensed out, then all bets are off.

They never should have changed the Doctor's gender. I'm not a huge, huge fan, but I do know he has a granddaughter. Why not make a show about her, or his great granddaughter or something? Then again, I think there never should have been a War Doctor and 10's ine quasi-regeneration shouldn't have counted.

If they did they should have done it back when it wouldn't just be wokeshit for its own sake. It's not like Time Lords haven't done it before. The Master did it for instance.

A Susan spin off is a pretty rocking idea and would upset lots of 'queer' fans who maintain the doc is an asexual/non binary/eunuch and Susan wasn't really his/her granddaughter.

Good for her. Show's gone shit with sjwism now anyways.

How are they gonna get those sweet "I'm like totally queer trrrraaaaannnnnsssss" watches then?"

The fact they're choosing not to comment on it could very well mean it's true. As others have said though, her leaving won't fix the show, because she isn't the problem. Chibnall needs to go, and they need to get someone competent to replace him. Hell, at this stage, I'll just take someone who isn't on board with the Timeless Child rubbish.

Sadly, I don't see Chibnall going anywhere anytime soon and I don't see anyone trying to retcon the Timeless Child for reasons that have already been discussed. Even if they do, that just fixes the most visible problem. I think the best we can hope for is that the ratings tank enough that the BBC to decide it's just not worth it and either cancel the show or replace Chibnall with someone who knows what they're doing. There is a glimmer of hope on that front. "Revolution of the Daleks" got the same ratings as "The Timeless Children", which was the lowest rated episode of the last season and the lowest rated episode since the show came back. That's abysmally bad, especially for a holiday special.

I used to think nobody would unseat John Nathan-Turner as the biggest fuckup in Doctor Who history, and he was a literal pederast.

They already did that it's called The Sarah Jane Adventures

Also @Null fix the title it's "Doctor Who" not "Dr. Who", the man doesn't have a PhD.

It's not even close. Chibnall has handily unseated JNT. JNT at least had some good seasons. Last year of Tom under him was good. The Davison era was generally watchable. Everything Chibnall has done as showrunner has been garbage.

*A holiday special after nearly a years hiatus and during a lockdown with fuckall else to watch.
Lets be honest, when you get beat by fucking Mrs Browns Boys in ratings, it is time to throw in the towel

They're locked into the Doctor being a woman now. They won't change course until the show is run into the ground again and cancelled because changing course is admitting defeat. The only way a male Doctor is coming back is if it is quietly revived after a multi-decade hiatus.

I can see them doing another male Doctor somewhere down the line, but it would most likely be a non-white actor. Nothing wrong with that - apparently Chiwetel Ejiofor was supposed to be the Twelfth Doctor before they cast Peter Capaldi (this was right before 12 Years a Slave, so he probably got too expensive after that, hence negotiations falling through) and he'd have been phenomenal.

Truth be told, I don't much care who they cast as long as they get a head writer who's competent and doesn't treat the show's history like a roll of toilet paper.

Can't help but wonder if they'll ever take the plunge and give us RTD's enby disabled Doctor from the Rose novelisation.

No seriously, that was a thing.

I suppose it makes sense if you regenerated into a body where parts don't work. You are rewriting every part of your cellular biology, sometimes things go wrong. There's supposed to be a Cat-person Doctor too IIRC.

It didn't really go completely off the rails until Colin Baker and that ridiculous fucking outfit they made him wear, on top of turning his Doctor into a complete douche canoe.
