Uggg dont remind me of that, in the fansub i was we got a tard having a literally meltdown on IRC because we made fun of him for his FMA-B subs, had the terrible idea to put a freaking huge sign everytime he has to explain something the thing covered 1/4 of the screen and had a chibi alphonse dancing, we told him that he was a retard and was banned, he is still to this day mad at us even when the fansub closed a long time ago
I think so? i started a year ago and when i watched korone she already was being friendly with her western audiences so i suppose the thing boomed with Coco and went to hell with HoloEN

Speaking of fanart... I don’t know if I’m just getting old or what, but I sometimes find it very difficult to know, without looking at the names, whether a piece of fanart is of a Hololive girl, or an Azur Lane/Princess Connect girl. So many of them look very similar.

I had the perfectly normal art student's struggles running in the background for the past few days. I would never be able to endure a game like Jump King for as long as she did, and for sure I would not be as chill as she was. Even my family members got interested and started to cheer her on.

It's kind of understandable with Azur Lane, because we already know about Fubuki/Kawakaze's reused character designs. Suisei and St. Louis also share a surprising amount of resemblance to each other, outside of a key difference....

I know someone was saying it frustrates them when chuubas intentionally play something that makes the game harder, which I kind of agree with, but Botan is having so much fun with the stupid shopping cart that it’s hard to care. (So much so that it made me buy Rising.)
She also does seem to be actually improving, slowly, which is cool. Trials has a pretty nuts learning curve.

I'll take any AZKi streaming content at this point. It's so hard to find translated clips of her like, 3 Overcooked-per-year streams.
I noticed during last night's Terraria stream that while the chat was mostly in English, she spoke mostly English too. Probably a chicken-egg thing (did the chat bring out her English or did her English bring out EN commenters??) but the influence of EOPs is undeniable.

Out of curiousity i decided to check Domo's twitter again and i just realize how fucking insane this guy's reach is, and everthing in his "looking back at 2020" thread is just...universal praise. People thanking him for "his" community, praising him for being a charismatic and easy to befriend guy, it's honestly confusing to me if this guy really has skeletons in his closet or is he being genuine.
On one hand, i don't actually know much about him because i've never seen his interviews, and it's entirely possible that some of the analysis posts on him is, well, just speculation. Not that i am dismissing such speculation, but i don't have any experiences with Kings of the Nerds so i wouldn't know if it's applicable to him or not
On the other hand, he can be pretty fucking obnoxious. Positioning himself as a "simp king", frequently hornyposting with other Vtubers to the point it becomes anoyying, and self depreciating himself that he can have a large chunk of "his community" dunk on him only for them to praise him like a saint the next day if he so wishes. The thing that ruined his image for me was how one time he replied under one of Ame's tweets (i think) about typical degenerate simp fetish desires, and i can't believe someone would behave that way, even in a joking manner
I know i asked this before, but how the heck are you supposed to avoid him as an indie if he's the No. 1 Indie Vtuber reply guy? If you ignore him, will he get all passive agressive n shit?

I guess it depends? I imagine if you want nothing to do with him, the "Grey Rock" strategy for dealing with Narcissists might need to be deployed to some degree. Say "Thank you for your kind words/feedback", and otherwise don't engage at all. Otherwise, just go into it knowing you'll be using him as much as possible, share as little as possible, and keep any and all receipts.

Right now he's essentially a politician. Walking around, shaking hands with people and talking to them. Trying to build influence and fame. Unlike a politician, though, he has no real power. Since his "base" is cobbled together from so many others, the most he can do is to promote someone, he can't speak negatively else he's caught in controversy and splinters his own support.
Someone in his position has the potential to do good, of course. Give underappreciated indies a boost, set up collabs for people, and so on. As opposed to hornyposting, gathering clout and propping up tranny shark. Charisma and networking means absolutely jack shit unless you do something good with it, after all. What I'm curious to see is whether he tries to get something tangible out of his influence, or just keeps propping up his own ego indefinitely.
The most likely downfall for him is when one of his dozens of "close friends" gets into some sort of scandal, and he's found guilty by association. Of course, that's discounting his own ability to do stupid shit, which naturally can happen too.

To his credit, he does seem like he's trying to boost indies in his...weird way, and i've seen him donate to charity, so there's at least that
which reminds me...during said charity the bootleg shark apparantly had donated a few thousand dollars at the last minute, if i remember correctly. Probably something else to fund the trust fund kid narrative

Someone commented me the possibility that he is playing the long game awaiting for someone on his Cabal to get into Nijisanji/Hololive so he could weasel his way to the big leagues, experience in the field is required when you are auditioning so having vtubers in your social circles would be a way to do it

From what I can tell about Domo is that he is currently genuine, if a bit stupid and obnoxious. Dude wants to promote people he likes and has the power to do it but he seems to be consolidating said power. Hana Macchia already follows and retweets his stuff so he has on hand one of the most popular (in the west) Niji's audience at his fingertips. Pikamee gets along with him too.
We have yet to see what he plans on doing with his power or if he's just content to keep up his current gig, whatever the fuck that is.
For Calli this isn't a possibility. She's made mention that she still has a hard time accepting the generosity of her fans but is just better at hiding it. Impostor syndrome never really goes away and I think people here love her so much because she is just genuinely herself. No matter what name she goes by, Karen will always be Karen.
That said, she did have to become the dad and take the toy away when people were spamming the Sandliope emote and forced her audience to write a 30 page single space TNR 12 size font essay on why they should have it back.
One note about the stuff with Domo and indies: just what in the goddamn is up with all the hornyposting? I have started making friends in the indie community and they're all great people but goddamn it's just hornyposts 24/7 with these people. I'm no prude when it comes to that style of humor but making your brand "coomer" just sounds like shooting yourself in the foot.

I gotta disagree with you here and it's your second sentence that should make it obvious why.
"He seems to be consolidating said power" has got me spamming X to doubt. This guy wants to be an "influencer." He's got ambitions and none of those really bode well for the overall core Vtuber fandom. Just the external onion layers of coomers, normalfags, and the tourists and posers who are here due to "Fear of Missing Out."
He plans to build an internet-based career and wants to be some sort of important "behind the scenes" kind of guy. It's about clout, connections, and being powerful/important. Big fish in small pond shit. His overall aim is to be some sort of gatekeeper so people have to gladhand him and act like he's great. Basically, see what I said about him earlier in the thread.
These people rarely have the best interests of either the fandom or the product in mind when they start worming their way into influence-peddling. It is entirely for their own self-aggrandizement.
Lowest common denominator. When you mainstream something, you effectively kill it for its original audience. What made it special, unique, awesome, gets watered down so that all the flavor is gone and the average dumbass can consume (or, if you prefer, consoom). Happens to everything when suits see money-making potential.
Same thing goes for the grass-roots end when meritocracy is killed. Anyone and everyone can be a Vtuber now so it is no longer special. You have a few hundred bucks lying around? You can commission a half-decent avatar and get Facerig or Live2D or something. You know what you can't buy? An actual personality, interesting skills, or entertaining talents. You know what always entertains the groundlings? Sex jokes.

I’ve really wanted to try it, but my dislike of horror games kept me away. it seems like an interesting Dungeon Keeper/ONI style game, though.
I still hope that if they keep streaming stuff like this, Home Designer and SimCity, it might eventually lead to them moving on to Frontier’s Planet Zoo or Planet Coaster. I think with all the artists in the group that they could do some incredible stuff with all the tools in those games.
