that's a screencap from his latest video, which I really can't be bothered to watch. I sat through one, months ago, and even speeded up he's dull. I think that's a valid dichotomy, but I wouldn't say it's the core one; I don't really think there exactly is a single core dichotomy. I also don't think it's consistently useful to remark on aversion-desire unless you know a lot about the psychology of a particular individual. In contrast AGP-HSTS is often much easier to observe since all you need is a very small snap-shot of their behavior so that you can judge whether they are naturally feminine or just a regular man.

There's also a degree of horses for courses at play as well, if you're just observing troons for fun or w/e then AGP-HSTS is more useful in understanding their behavior, since aversion-desire is more invisible. However, if you're a psychologist treating a troon in the make then understanding how aversion and desire motivate your patient would obviously be much more useful than the superficial evaluation of "Is this guy really fucking gay?".

If your point is more than aversion-desire maps to HSTS-AGP and captures something more essential about the distinction between these two coarse categories then I'd tentatively disagree. I think you observe both effeminate men who display a positive desire towards assuming a female identity (i.e. believing that being a gay man is no fun compared to being a woman because you don't get fuck straight guys) as well as AGP-types who fall into troonism due to aversion to stereotypical masculinity or due to 'failure' as a man. 'Amelia', posted just above is a kind of example of this. He wrote a long rambling story about how insecure he is here which gives you the impression that he was trying to escape being a man as much as anything else.

Just a note on categories and typologies; you'll find that they exist only in a very coarse sense. Hence, the HSTS-AGP works as a very good short-hand to convey a general sense about the nature of a given troon. However, with any finer typology what you'll always observe is a weaving together of different themes and motifs.

Many of the listed themes that @Surfin Terf has given aren't really mutually exclusive and are usually going to co-occur. In fact co-occurence of multiple troon-linked factors in combination with some form of psychopathology (e.g. autism, BPD, body dysmorphia etc.) is usually going to be present.

In all cases, it is a matter of a critical mass of social factors/influences motivating the subject to view trooning out positively or else reduce the salience of perceived obstacles to trooning out. The former acting to produce the belief that one "is" or at least "should" be a woman while the latter allow for the potential troon to feel as though he can act on those desires. So, all typologies shouldn't really be about classifying individuals per se but rather these underlying forces.

To give a more concrete example, you're never going to find someone who trooned out purely to "transmaxx", rather what you'll observe is a guy with some combination of tranny-related paraphilic interests who is also unsuccessful with women, who lacks meaningful real-world friendships that he cares to preserve and has some psychological issues, most likely some combination of Asperger's/HFA, depression, anxiety, agoraphobia, self-worth or body image issues. The "transmaxxing" shit is just the particular explanation he picks to justify himself (at least on the internet) and which further motivates the notion that trooning out could help him feel less depressed or whatever.

I also think ‘body modder’ can be a subset of any of the other categories, and not a true category unto itself.

I agree that their are women flagellants, but I don't think that they're a major component of TiFs; most women who troon out for oppression points seem like sociopaths to me. I've heard too many SJWs ragging on TiFs for having male privilege or for being traitors to women to believe that transitioning actually makes them feel better.

As for body modders, yeah, it's probably a subset of the Early Bloomers, but I'm trying to make this parallel the TiM typology. I really don't understand the body mod minds at all, almost every body mod looks horrible to me aesthetically and as unsentimental as I am about my body I just look at that stuff and think that it's gross. Yes, even tattoos, they look like a skin disease to me.

Yes, of course people are complex things and it's rare for a person to fit into one social category perfectly all the time. I find this sort of typology useful for understanding specific actions, not just by an individual, but the community as a whole. Sorry if I didn't make this clear.

You seem knowledgeable about sociology and psychology, so I'll use that as an excuse to bring up my favorite category that didn't even get mentioned in my revised typology: Literal Psychotics. People who actual suffer from schizophrenic delusions and come to believe, among other things, that their body is the wrong sex. It's quite common for schizophrenics to believe that their body is fundamentally wrong, and delusions about sexually dimorphic traits are no exception. Apparently something like one out of five schizophrenics suffer delusions of being the wrong sex, it's sometimes called "delusional pseudo-transsexualism". Here's an interesting article examine the possible link between schizophrenia and trannyism.

I urge you to look into how much it costs to rent in some places. Living in Ontario, Canada, you need to be at least two hours out from Toronto to get anything relatively decent rent-wise. Many people take the long commute to get from their home to their job in southern Ontario because renting in and around Toronto is a fucking nightmare. That $1139 is nowhere near a decent living wage in Canada with our inflated prices.

(That said, I hate that I'm essentially defending this troon but this needed a bit of perspective.)
