Kinda awestruck by the volume of "nbd who cares" in this thread. Maybe in some states a physical relationship between a 19-year-old and a 17-year-old would not be illegal - in some states - but I'm pretty sure in all states, as well as federally, we're still talking about child pornography charges here, stuff that could get him on sex offender registries for the rest of his life. Does that make sense? Maybe not, but good luck getting any politicians to put their name on legislation reforming child porn laws.

Anyway, maybe we need to add a counter to the site: It has been [ 0 ] days since a YouTuber was accused of grooming minors.

Carson has always been a creep, but a 17 year old and a 19 year old are much more similar in devlopment so it's not really a problem? This is the first time i've been stumped on what snide comment to make. all i can say is the legality is an issue... not sure about statute of limitations on his crimes, don't really care.

When was the last time charges have been pressed due to youtube drama? It rarely ever fucking happens, and charges probably won't come of this, so it's no big deal. Unless the police get involved, it's a nothing burger.

maybe everyone is “nbd who cares” bc who the fuck cares what a 17 year old and 19 year old do....plus not like anyone is a prosecutor and cares abt the case from a legal perspective

Oh no, I am not. I also doubt that his former friends would go that far. I also think that the allegations, even if true, probably comes down to clout chasing by the girl. If there would have been a genuine problem she would have first of all gone to the police.

I haven't seen anyone post this yet, but there is a second accusor on Twitter. I'm new to archiving but here's an archive of her tweet. I don't know why people call him a pedophile or say he was abusing his power. I've seen evidence of neither. While technically it is illegal to sext a 17 year old, most of us agree that a 17 and 19 year old together isn't that weird.

If the evidence does come out that he was abusing his power then I'll freely admit he's a creep. However, knowing what I know about Carson's love life (or lack thereof) he was probably lonely willing to attach to any female attention.

Even if this goes to the court, he will just get a slap on the wrist and call it a day. A judge looking at age variance is gonna say nah not worth the money. No prosecutor is gonna be dumb even to charge him. Only thing that matters is his reputation...of which I think he is unjustly attacked...for something so trivial if not for the child pornography.

You're giving prosecutors too much credit as human beings. Prosecutors like having convictions for stuff like CP on their records, especially when elections come around. The context of that CP conviction and whether it was really "fair" or "shouldn't be illegal" doesn't really matter.

For the record I think he's a massive fucking tard for even trying his luck. Like I'll defend him to fellow autists on KF because I don't think being retarded at 19 should be career suicide and I don't think being kinda creepy should be a death sentence.
