Maybe he is ron? Cause ron is one of the few people to downplay his abuse. And this makes it to the perfect chance to not only continue his attack on Vic but to discredit his ex-wives and the large amount of abuse he commits. I got bored and am starting on writing down my taxes (might as well), so I'm listening to this chill podcast, and Vic mentioning that being cast as Edward caused something to happen to him that had never happened before: getting emails from FMA fans telling him to not screw it up. He had never gotten fan letters before, ever. While I doubt Vic wouldn't have done his very best as Edward no matter what, in a way, guess we have some die-hard FMA fans to thank for getting him pumped and prepared to give it his all before the first recording.
How many voice-actors have gotten such letters, do you think, and did they appreciate them as much as Vic appreciated those Edward fans?

Nowadays, English VA's view any criticism they receive from fans, no matter how mild, as a personal attack and harassment. They'd probably post the letters online and sic their fans on the person who sent them, because they dared to say something to them that wasn't all praise.
Vic strikes me as someone who's open to receiving constructive criticism from fans, unlike other VA's.

People such as Benjamin Oscar/BT who worshiped these English VAs like they were celebrities are the dumbest, most insufferable people I've ever had the displeasure of knowing. They literally gave these voice actors massive egos.
These aren't really fans, they're simps who are submissive to these people. If any of these VAs were to call out someone like Ben Oscar as a creep (which I'm pretty sure he is) it would be like a personal betrayal to him.
They are literally no different than idol fans in Japan when they find out an idol isn't pure and has a boyfriend/relationship. Some of these KickVic people were on good terms with Vic until Funimation back-stabbed him.
They think they're not like idol otaku because they're okay with VAs having relationships yet they're not okay with wrong-think.

Another great example would be Bryce Papenbrook. Someone who has publically gotten personal attacks, harrassment & straight-up death threats on not just him, but even his children.
He's always seem to be positive & kind to his fans, has actually worked in fan projects (SAO Abridged) & is just a fun guy in general, At least to my knowledge.

As cringe as it was at times, I'd rather have the days of DeviantArt, bad fanfiction, Narutards, and unironic fujoshi than this current nightmare of smug pretentiousness, identity politics, pseudo-intellectual "irony" and snarky cynicism, and how anything that goes against or even just doesn't fully conform to the pretentious party line being cast out and deemed as "cringe" and therefore acceptable to brigade against.
As much as I miss the early 2000's fandom and the Anime Boom, I will admit I'm glad the yaoi paddles are a thing of the past.
