The thing is, there's not really any way to go back to any of that because of how far one side has pushed the other. One side is the party of "9/11 was some people doing something", of "antifa is an idea", of trooning out little kids. The other is the party of "maybe little kids shouldn't be given life altering hormones", "maybe the borders should be closed so we know who comes in", "maybe one state does what it likes while another does what they like, and that's okay".
