Does anyone believe anything will come of all this? Won't the media just twist everything to fit their narrative and bury anything they can't manipulate? The status quo isn't actually going to change.

The status quo is going to shift towards more authoritarianism.

The media and politicians are going to use this to push for things like "dangerous speech" laws, which (along with this event) will be leveraged to silence opposing viewpoints and try to secure a permanent single party establishment rule.

Oh, I don't really like populism that much, personally. But I think it's important to have populism as an active political element. It's a pressure valve that keeps other elements in check and fights to keep some level of representation for the little guy.
