This was so utterly incompetent, so short sighted and so monumentally fucking retarded I can't even. Any support for them instantly evaporated. They were let in. I wouldn't be shocked if it were COINTELPRO to let them in and make fools of themselves. I mean, it doesn't take much. But the security just let them go in. Obviously there needs to be massive re-assessments in Capitol Hill security and maybe we were lucky this happened so we can overhaul security measures before competent people do this.
This is the absolute worst thing that could have happened to any supporter of Trump. They went in the Capitol with no goal, did nothing but meme, and then leave. A lot of people have already started dropping support for Trump. Look, you want to occupy government buildings, have a POINT. They did it for "LOL I'M MEMING BRO THIS IS Q". It accomplished nothing but encourage the push for more authoritarianism.

If you watch the video, the hallway was barricaded. The Secret Service guy had his gun out and was pointing it where the woman was climbing. She got shot because she was attempting to climb over the barricade. We don't know who was in that hallway, but it if it were members of Congress or the VP, you're getting fucking shot. The Secret Service DO NOT fuck around. If you watch, you can see her attempting to climb over at 9 seconds and just getting shot. The guy was aiming there because it was open. He didn't shoot her for breaking the window, he shot her for attempting to storm the barricade.
Did she deserve to die? No. But when fanatical boomers are storming the gates, you don't really take a chance and it seems to me pretty clear that warnings weren't working. A barricade didn't deter her, a guy with his gun out didn't deter her, what, would talking nicely do the trick? I'm sorry she died, but don't attempt to storm the bastille without consequences.
The United States Secret Service has never let a protected person come to harm (and I can find no evidence GG had USSS detail).
Typically I believe Capitol Police protect Senators and Legislators.
I have yet to hear anyone explain why they didn’t tear gas them first or apply any of the other non lethal options they were kind enough to use for the rioting BLM/Antifa subverters. I'm sorry but it was. Look at the video at 9 seconds. The Secret Service is going to use lethal force as a first response, its what they are trained to do. She attempted to cross a barricade which they were guarding, maybe where Pence was located. He had his gun out, clearly with his intent to use it. She should not have attempted to climb over the barricade. You also have a very small hallway, so tear gas would probably suffocate people. The secret service generally isn't armed with non-lethal weapons and they're not going to rush to find any when they're protecting a VIP.
They don't fuck around, ever. They will put you in the ground. Period. The reason why this didn't happen to ANTIFA or BLM is because they were up against cops. The Secret Service aren't cops, they're federal agents who are trained to specifically eliminate threats. They are trained to throw themselves in front of bullets and explosions and die for their target. They're not going to take a risk that someone is hopping over a barricade intends to do no harm. The gun is out. Don't fucking play with fire.

This exercise was idiotic, pointless and basically obliterated any support Trump may have had. It was self destructive and got a woman killed because she thought she was storming the bastille or some shit.
If they had a point of contention, something they wanted to accomplish, then maybe he would have. They DIDN'T.
