Of course they'll lower the bar for what's considered terrorism. Rioters have entered the politicians' playground. No one gave a shit while they've been assaulting people and destroying private property for the last four years far away in Otherland. That's not their problem. In fact, they encourage it. Oh I totally get that & I definitely think there are flaws in the process (why in the fuck is voter id being debated When everyone has one???), but it swings both ways: no one should be shitted on because they have questions in the same vein that people shouldn’t be storming the capital to cause harm because no one is answering. Protest are fine, but there is a thing in going to far. It’s the same with blm: scream loud to be heard, but there is no need to burn down businesses. It’s all about balance & understanding, things hard to fine these days sadly.

They let them in because there was too many of them. They knew if they opened fire or tried to do anything that it was just going to escalate the situation even further and cause violence to break out. The sheer number of protestors intimidated the Capitol Police into standing down.
