Probably because the vast majority of the people that even made into the Capitol weren't 100% criminals like the media makes them out to be. I say "100% criminal" because trespassing is still a crime, but they're not literal burn/loot/murder types.

Forget local churches, almost all of them are pozzed. The ones in my area, Catholic and Protestant, can’t shut up about how WELCOMING they are to LGBT, and this is a pretty red county.

The GOP will get nothing done, that is a given. Not voting and just zoning out really seems like the more healthy thing. I am still conflicted and it all depending how apathetic i am by 2022. If we are headed to the same destination i'd like to make sure some republicans lose their seats. Nothing worse than people who lie to your face and stab you in the back first chance.
Paintings are large an unwieldy, some beyond the ability for one person to carry, and many of these are probably secured to walls as well. If somebody was looking to jack shit at the spur of the moment, there are much easier things to grab. Even narrow podiums.
