Reminds me of people who demonize those who hunt to feed their families in smallish communities, while going to a supermarket and buying fat steaks all the time.
I think the idea is that indulging in it is fine but bringing attention to the nitty gritty of it, in this case the implications of lusting over children, is bad because it makes it real.
Just to be clear: hunting for food is better than loli, venison is particularly enjoyable, not trying to equate them

I think with a lot of people their fetishes become front and center of their online persona. A lot of lolicons like to bring it up at every chance they can. They’ll always try to push their fetishes onto others and then get defensive when people say they don’t like it.
I used to help out with adventurers league which is like a social D&D session you’d have at a game store. I’d DM these sessions where anyone can join in to play. There was one guy who’d always show up with a character sheet for what was basically his fetish ideal character, which was always a child and a bard. I thought it was creepy but the dude took the creepy factor to 11 when he’d constantly try to include his fetish into everything. I wound up asking the guy to never play at my table again. The guy was in his mid 20s but his character was always 9 and they were always bards because he liked this idea of a child seducing NPCs. It got tiring and everyone at the table got sick of him.
TL;DR- loli fetishists will always try to push their fetishes on others and try to shoehorn it wherever they can.
It’s a guarantee that he’s lurked the smug thread, especially given that she’s someone he looks down upon as though she’s an inferior to him.
