No. He needed to do it in 2 years. People tell me the midterms were screwy. In short the only time anything could be done is in the first 2 years.

After that he really should have been focusing on putting together his own political machinery making sure he controlled local levels in states he would need.

Yesterday I went to Brooklyn to meet a friend and did some shopping afterward. Everyone was doing what they normally do whether it be working or begging for change. Restaurants still have no customers inside, lots of businesses are boarded up and there's an air of sadness and quiet desperation that looms over everything. Nothing that happened at the Capitol has any real life impact on most people, regardless of their politics. Not a single person (except my friend) brought it up.
