Trump Enslavement Syndrome - Orange man good. /r/The_Donald and any public demonstration of rabid pro-Trump enthusiasm in spite of all reason.

Trumptards on /pol/ are trying really hard to make the woman who got shot, seem like a martyr

>hehehe after throwing my own base that I riled up under the bus I will announce I was MERELY PRETENDING
Is he trying to get shot? Who is he even appealing to at this point?
It’s legit crazy. He’s an addict now. I’m sure smarter cats than me can arm chair analyze as trump “seeking the love he never felt as a child” or some shit, but he’s crossed over from seeking the tacit approval of the majority(which most politicians would be more than happy to have) to pseudo-religious worship of the pants shittingly insane minority. Why settle for “adequate world leader and steward of American democracy” when you can bask in the title of “golden warrior god from heaven made flesh”.

Anecdotally, I live in California, and I did not vote for Hillary in 2016, whereas I did hold my nose and vote for Biden in 2020. So here’s at least one person who accounts for that difference.
Honestly, as a NYer, we're not fond of Hillary either. NY of course went blue, as it always will, mainly because if there is anyone NY hates more than Hillary, it's Trump.

"They won't be treated unfairly!! They are patriots!!!!!"

Even though everything bad that just happened to them is all but entirely his fault and he's actively telling the FBI to make an example out of them for all but being invited into a building to roam around aimlessly, push over a few bookshelves, and steal a podium. Even I have to admit that this was pretty fucked up. I don't think I've ever gone from "All-guns-blazing support" to "I hope he shits himself in public and cries on camera" quite so fast in my life.

Politics in America has had plenty of high points and low points, but I don't think it's ever had anything this embarrassing. Even LBJ ranting about his balls to some poor tailor was somehow more dignified than this. Trump will pardon whoever Kanye tells him to, he'll pardon the family members of his own advisors, he'll pardon drug dealers and drug traffickers, but his own supporters get to stare down the barrel of a shotgun loaded with terrorism charges just for making a mess in the Capitol building for 6 hours.

And all that after spending the past two months bilking them for money. That's just fucked up.
Again, speaking as a NYer who grew up with Trump plastered on every newspaper and every tabloid, I hate to say I-told-you-so, but...

Actually, I'm not interested in basking in schadenfreude over the casual Trumper that fell for his BS. He is and has always been a master of BS. I am loving that finally, the country is starting to see that the Emperor has no clothes, and he is and always was a complete retard.

On a side note, just due to my not really knowing much how this works, if Trump were impeached or removed via 25A, would his pardons still stand? Part of me feels like removing him at this point, when we're just days from inauguration, is mainly posturing and a waste of time, unless they are doing it to overturn things he's done in recent months?

His pardons would stay the talk of removing him is posturing just to get him to shut the fuck up and play ball before he leaves.

While I am trying to just be happy that some Trump supporters are now realizing he is a nutjob, I'm curious. The whole world has known for decades that Trump tries to avoid paying contractors and tries to screw anybody who does business with him. This information was certainly not hard to find during the last two elections. So honest question-- did you really ever expect loyalty from him? If yes, why?

These people can't be serious right?! Trump literally conceded yesterday and is obviously just going to start some sort of movement for his supporters. He isn't even thinking about sitting in the oval office after Biden's inauguration.

I won't put it past these people to believe that Trump and Biden bodyswapped whenever Biden does something good (I don't think it will be a good administration but every president has done at least some good) just to say "IT WAS ACTUALLY TRUMP'S MASTER PLAN!?"

I wouldn't say that I expected "complete loyalty", but when it came to any information about Trump that was negative, it was almost impossible to transmit that to anyone in his camp because it was drowned out by so much made-up bullshit that the average supporter had completely tuned out all negativity associated with his name. The political Left and their activists in the media did themselves absolutely no favours by constantly making up literal fake news about Trump to try and tarnish his reputation when there were plenty of legitimate criticisms you could make about the guy.

His business dealings never much interested me because business is cutthroat and you don't make the kind of money that he does without grinding your heel on a few toes along the way. I don't think that much of anything he did in his business dealings were illegal or we'd have heard no end of it, but there's no such thing as an "ethical billionaire." What mattered to me were the results, and a lot of the results that he got while he was in office were things that I agreed with or wanted to see done, not the least of which being that we avoided wars and finally mopped up ISIS territories so that we could start bringing people back from overseas.

I never pretended he was flawless, I just never expected him to spin on his heel and immediately drive a knife between every single supporters' shoulderblades in the span of a few hours with absolutely nothing to gain from doing so. If he'd just quietly conceded and walked off the stage, that still would have been embarrassing and more than a little disappointing, but taking a giant fucking shit on everyone's face while he was leaving was not particularly impressive.

Don't you know huffing enough copium makes the 4D chess real? If enough cultists believe in something, it'll actualize into existence, duh. Being in a massive circlejerk also helps.

Oh yeah they get all their news from Qanon and all Journalists are evil scumbags so of course they only have the real news that Trump is the Shadow President while Biden is a deepfake

Avoiding wars is great and good, and after the last decade, I 100% understand people voting primarily to get the fuck out the Middle East.

Did you find other Trump supporters were also "not interested" in his business dealings? His business experience was his only skill, his entire career, literally the only thing he brought to the table. Why did they think a business man would be able to lead a country?

And again, since he has only ever been a business man, business is cut throat, and there are no ethical billionaires... really? You thought he wouldn't turn on his supporters the instant it was beneficial for him to do so? Look at his wives. Look at all the people he's fired throughout his presidency. He's a cutthroat businessman-- knifing people in the back once he's through with them is the one consistent thing he's done in 70 years on this earth.

I don't mean to rub salt in the wound, I'm just seeking to understand the logic here. If you're disappointed that he is distancing himself from the protestors, what would you have preferred that he do? Tell them to keep going? What would he stand to gain if he stood by them?

I'm not nearly as upset about this as people might imagine, don't worry about that. If you want to poke fun and run a victory lap, I genuinely do not mind. When I say I'm disappointed, I'm only saying that I'm disappointed that Joe Biden won the election instead of the candidate that I preferred, because I do not like the man, his policies, his history with politics, and I don't think he's the best choice to lead the country. It doesn't help that he acts like he's five minutes from death, and his Vice President is a power-hungry, crooked cop. Plenty of people disagree with me and would say similar things of Trump and Pence's obsession with religion, and that's fine.

When it comes to the protestors, I'm annoyed that he invited them there to begin with. There was a 0% chance that this wasn't going to turn into a shit-show, and he did it anyways. There was really no "good" solution for how to act afterwards, but inviting them there in the first place was a guarantee that stupid shit was going to happen, and we didn't even get a "very fine people on both sides" out of it. It was just a straight up, "Fuck you, here's the FBI, enjoy your 15-year prison sentence for putting your shoes on Nancy Pelosi's desk."

Anyone who still wants to compare what's happening now to what happened in 2016 is ignorant at best, disingenuous at worst. No one on the left expected that Trump would not be inaugurated.
I'm going to be honest these crazy people make the 2016 Clinton loss meltdowns look nuanced and tame despite those being pretty violent.
