So, uh, why can't he face time with the iPad he already has? The one he definitely has, because he was clearly using the Twitter for iPad app just recently? Or is he trying to make people forget/believe that he bought a brand new iPad just about a month ago? The thing is that this isn't DID.

There is some debate in psychology about whether DID is a distinct thing, or if its a more complex mechanism of some other underlying condition.

The one thing thst isn't in doubt with DID though, is that you don't just switch plurals or whatever the fuck whenever you feel like it. That's not a thing.

IANA shrink but afaik, people with DID are generally not aware of their alts. The triggers can be anything and everything, but generally those with DID are not aware of their alts or when they switch, as a result of this, they often lose track of time, can forget where they are, how they got there, and they can be confused when confronted, since the prior chunk of time is essentially lost to them.

Its been a while since I've read into this, so, grain of salt, but there is fairly significant debate amongst mental health professionals, and the research that has been done isn't really clear.

In any case, I'm pretty sure this plurality shit isn't a thing. It's definitely not DID though.

Pardon me for adding some more to this somewhat out of order, but I have been thinking more about this, and there are some things I'd like to add, if you'd indulge me.

DID, like so many other debilitating mental health conditions, is a result of prior trauma, as other folks have said. Think about what would happen if your mind was trying to rationalise abuse you received in your past. It's why some people have the kinks they do—it can be a coping mechanism, it can be crossed wires, it can be any number of things, but often enough, it can be the result of prior severe trauma in one's life.

For DID, its thought that the brain is attempting to develop coping mechanisms, and one of those coping mechanisms happens to be compartmentalising prior experiences. Firewalling off damaged parts of your mind, which is probably why those with DID are not acutely aware of when or how they switch, or why for that matter.

It's definitely not a case of having imaginary friends that all talk to each other on your Twitter. That's not how this works. DID is a real thing which is not well understood, but this does not make it any less of a real thing. People who suffer from it suffer pretty damn catastrophically, and I don't think you need me to explain why in order for you to connect the dots here.

It's definitely not a cutesy thing that that you have fun with on twitter. Don't confuse 'plurality' with DID, because people with DID need all the support they can get.

To be fair, the prospects of his condition are grim, but that's entirely self-inflicted. His condition and his prospects both. It's nothing like a traffic accident or a corporate downsizing. He could have avoided this, and with some effort, he'd be able to treat it. The way he is now, blindness, lower limb amputation, and kidney failure have a 100% likeliness.

Purely anecdotal, but most of the village nutjobs I know of have long family anamneses usually consisting of various types of schizophrenia, substance abuse, dementia, parkinsonism, etc, at least judging by all the old gossips' stories about them. I don't think we will ever know for sure if either of them have some kind of mental/personality disorder. Louie likely has Autism or something similar and is suckling at the Government teet for it, which is why he's always able to buy expensive new toys at the beginning of the month, even when grift pickins are slim. Regardless of whether they both have some mental disorder, hereditary or not, it doesn't absolve them of both being shitty, horrible people. There are plenty of people in the world who have legit mental illnesses or other disorders who are still good, decent people.

Lou updated his Ko-Fi circa yesterday with the iPad details and also changed his goal from $750 to $290. I don't know whether changing your goal resets the thermometer. If it doesn't, hfeproductions donated about $5. If it does, they donated about $35.

Personally, I believe Lou could definitely have some kind of autism, but a lot of his behaviour could easily just be caused by poor upbringing/socialisation. It's hard to tell the actual extent of his autism because of the internet- we only see part of his behaviour, albeit maybe the worst of it, but still only part of it nonetheless. He obviously wants to come across as some poor, disadvantaged transwoman but his appearance doesn't match up to that. He claims to not have started his transition, which would be believable if he literally just shaved his face. Guess what? Issues with eyesight run in my family! When I hit the nice old age of 40 I will receive government funded yearly eye-tests in an effort to protect my eyesight because I have this familial risk (one thing you can't fault the English government for ). Said risk is also relatively common in diabetic people afaik, so I sympathise with your current situation. If you're unaware of what Lou may be talking about btw, Glaucoma is more common in diabetics. It causes a build up of pressure in your eyes and can eventually lead to peripheral vision loss, causing tunnel vision. It's a pretty common eye condition afaik, just diabetes increases your risk of getting it, along with cataracts and diabetic retinopathy.

So you could say my eyesight is almost definitely going to get worse, but there's a very easy and simple solution to this problem. It's called purchasing prescription eyeglasses, a bit of a mouthful I know, i'm very sorry. You may already be aware of this revolutionary treatment as I see you already have some in your possession. The best thing is, if your eyesight gets worse, they can provide you with NEW LENSES so you can see better! Incredible technology, what a wonderful world we live in. Now you won't have to get a new iPad! Thank me later!
