Trump Enslavement Syndrome - Orange man good. /r/The_Donald and any public demonstration of rabid pro-Trump enthusiasm in spite of all reason.

Lindsey seems to have met the Trump supporters

While I am trying to just be happy that some Trump supporters are now realizing he is a nutjob, I'm curious. The whole world has known for decades that Trump tries to avoid paying contractors and tries to screw anybody who does business with him. This information was certainly not hard to find during the last two elections. So honest question-- did you really ever expect loyalty from him? If yes, why?
Theres "mama bear will die for her cubs loyalty" and there is circumstantial loyalty.

Lets say I shoot a blood gangbanger. That binds me to the crips. Thats circumstantial loyalty. I have no love for the crips. I just ended up having my fate intertwined with theirs.

Likewise trump has for the last four years been the target of death threats, impeachments, legal harassment and every act of hostility short of actually punching him.

To trump supporters that meant he had no choice but go with them. To try and make peace with the cabal would be suicide.

Thats circumstantial loyalty. Either go with people whi adore him or go with people who made it very clear they want him dead or ruined.

Guess there is something we dont know about or trump is very ignorant of the fire pit he is in.

Girl, bye. Trump created his following. He didn't just decide to join his base, he fostered his base. If you wanna write Trump fanfic to explain the fact he's a legit grifter and retard, take it to A&N.

Honestly, as a NYer, we're not fond of Hillary either. NY of course went blue, as it always will, mainly because if there is anyone NY hates more than Hillary, it's Trump.

Again, speaking as a NYer who grew up with Trump plastered on every newspaper and every tabloid, I hate to say I-told-you-so, but...

Actually, I'm not interested in basking in schadenfreude over the casual Trumper that fell for his BS. He is and has always been a master of BS. I am loving that finally, the country is starting to see that the Emperor has no clothes, and he is and always was a complete retard.

On a side note, just due to my not really knowing much how this works, if Trump were impeached or removed via 25A, would his pardons still stand? Part of me feels like removing him at this point, when we're just days from inauguration, is mainly posturing and a waste of time, unless they are doing it to overturn things he's done in recent months?
I think that invoking 25A would just be a giant shit show. Article 4 only provides relief in the event of a presidential disability. And while Trump is mentally disabled, it is likely that he'll immediately overturn it, meaning that congress would have to confirm Pence's decision by 2/3. At that point it'll depend on how completely pissed off the entirety of congress is at Trump only days before he leaves office.

I wouldn't say that I expected "complete loyalty", but when it came to any information about Trump that was negative, it was almost impossible to transmit that to anyone in his camp because it was drowned out by so much made-up bullshit that the average supporter had completely tuned out all negativity associated with his name.
Were these people in a coma since the '80s? Because Trump has been an absolute moron ever since I can remember. He was an absolute moron when Reagan was President. He never betrayed the slightest sign of anything but the lowest and most conniving intelligence.

And they could have brought that up, but instead we got shit about how weirdly he drinks water, how many scoops of ice cream he got, how he feeds fish like a small child, how he watches the gorilla channel, how he walks down stairs kind of funny, how he mispronounces words or says "bigly" way too much, how he has tiny baby hands, and on and on, et cetera.

In their persistent effort to demonize absolutely every tiny, insignificant thing about him, they smothered any possibility that someone would stumble across a legitimate criticism. The media's response to absolutely everything he did by means of a childish tantrum was so obnoxious that people would tune it out the second it began, regardless of what else was written in the article, because they kept front-loading them with objectively untrue lies about him that they really did not need to make.

If you start a news segment that's going to criticize one of Trump's policies with 15 minutes of Don Lemon talking down to Trump's base and literally calling them all toothless, uneducated hicks, you can't be surprised when these people shut off the TV and stop listening to a single word that you have to say.

Maybe you’re too young to remember a Democratic president named Bill Clinton, but everything you list here also happened to him. Nobody stormed Congress over it.

Edit: To be clear, I’m certainly not defending Clinton, but people quickly forgot how absolutely awfully him and his family were treated in the 90s.

IIRC they did bring it up, constantly republicans brought up everything bad about Trumps business days known and unknown in an attempt to stop him in the primaries. They failed because rightfully no one respected them or believed them. The media and the democrats and various leakers constantly brought up his failures and bad management, and a lot of it was publicly visible like how no one in the administration seemed to know what is going on during critical times and this was obviously because Trump would constantly change his mind. Trump supporters didn't believe them either but it rang more true than BS to me because you could see for yourself what was happening and all the chaos. I realized Trump was of weak will, weak character, terrible leader and manager and had no firm believes other than aggrandizing himself early 2017. I still don't regret supporting him in 2016 but I got out when "throwing a wrench in the system" became literal worship of a fat conman .

Don't forget the "pee-pee bed" nonsense. So far as I can tell that was a complete fabrication with no factual basis at all.

They even threw a fit when he ripped up pieces of paper or threw Starburst candies at Angela Merkel, even though the latter was arguably one of the funnier things he did during his Presidency. In their eyes he could absolutely never do anything right, and even incredibly inconsequential actions were worthy of scathing 5,000-word articles about what an awful person he was for blinking too many times during a speech.

It was completely ridiculous and it guaranteed that nobody would take-- You know what, "Boy who cried wolf." Better analogy.

Didn't they literally push something made by a 4chan anon as fact

Seriously the media has done bad coverage of Trump by going only after the petty stuff that it seemed he wanted them to cover to play into the persecution complex.

Like to be honest I fell out of line with Trump in 2017 when he had Ajit Pai push for removing Net Neutrality, his supporters worshipping him, and Trump acting like an idiot over SNL which will just make people watch it more and mock him more for the attention it gives him. I only started to go back to supporting upon hearing some of the few good things he did and the left acting crazy over the extremely petty things like how he holds water along with how many of the 2020 Dem candidates I think were just not that good. But currently I am back to 2017 and have a lower opinion of Trump and the people who blindly worship him which doesn't excuse the idiocy of the left but opens up the idiocy of the right beyond the "Trump is Jesus" boomers and BASED MAGAPEDES

The media is fucked, sure. But isn't there something called personality responsibility? Maybe more of Trump's supporters should have developed the critical thinking skills necessary to decide what was important, instead of just tuning out any negative news wholesale and creating echo chambers for themselves.

It just seems like there'd be fewer tears right now if people got off the internet and had a good think for five minutes, rather than trusting "the plan" as given by some random anonymous trolls.
