Maybe I'm being milked/insane but I'm kinda giving up on life right now. I guess a temporary break while I just watch waiting for a new semi-consistent state to settle in.
I thought we lived in a country where I no longer had to care about my privacy, with my character and lack of violence speaking for itself, my opinions not dangerous per se. People could find my account here, go "who cares about this guy", and I could explain it to anybody who met me, who'd meet me with an understanding that we all fuck around to some extent. I thought we were entering an age where people stopped acting holy and we came to accept everyone is flawed and our own perceptions are flawed. Worst case they just stop associating and move on with their day -- 'he just fucks around with people talking about insane people'. That it was just something for elites to be afraid of, a different standard for those with power.
So much did I believe this that I unironically was okay with shit like brain interface technology.

I didn't think we had to try very hard keeping up appearances and constantly declaring our purity.

I was obviously naive. Be honest, how many of you thought similar?

It has been like that for at least five years now, probably longer. The internet has gotten a lot more creepy and dangerous (not to mention boring and shitty) over the past few years.

I honestly think there is no end to the purging. The sad thing, this will not solve the obvious divides between people but only make it worse.

Out of everything that's occurred in the past four years and recently, I do feel bad for Trump supporters in a way. Not only were they betrayed and led along by Trump through his political ventures, but I don't see a path forward where we won't see these individuals get ostracized or used as an example (lack of a better terms) through social media, business, politically, and societally ramification. It's also unnerving too that no matter how one feels about the capitol incident, we will see our political leaders take this opportunity to encroach more government power and possibly a revision or new version of the patriot act.

Today I learned you are right

probably just lips service their HR department typed out stating the obvious, that they want everyone to be able to find an adoption home and over all a pretty benign statement of the obvious, but that corporate speak rubs me so wrong.

I am tired of companies having political causes other than the one or two that the founder of the company originally had or an obvious good will cause that benefits everyone (like the Ronald McDonald house) that is mostly done as a Tax write off.

Just sell me shit that is at better quality or price than competitors and stop having opinions about shit.
