In a tweet, LAPD even said it was investigating the attack, but not the man pictured, as it had determined he was "a good Samaritan."

She said the incident kicked off when Nibo, just two blocks from her home, walked past a "Stop the Steal" MAGA rally.

"As she walked through the crowd of unmasked trump supporters, they began to yell, asking her if she had voted for Trump. She said no, flipped them off and kept walking and talking on the phone."

Installing random APKs is a good way to get malware. The one site you're talking about, APKPURE, might be alright, I don't know. In the past only apkmirror was considered a trusted source, imo, but they have nixed Parler apks because they are huge faggots. I did check one of the APKs from APKPURE and didn't see anything nasty right off, but do be careful, that has been a common vector for malware. That they are shilling app to open their APKs makes it seem liek that's their grift and not malware. Maybe fine.
