'Healthy' South Florida doctor died 2 weeks after receiving COVID-19 vaccine - Take the Jab. It's Safe and Effective.

A 56-year-old doctor passed away this week two weeks after getting his first dose of a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Dr. Gregory Michael, a Miami-Beach obstetrician, was in good health, according to WPDE. Health officials from Florida and the Centers from Disease Control and Prevention are investigating whether the vaccine played a role in his death, which may be the country's first death linked to the vaccine.

Dr. Michael received his first dose of Pfizer's vaccine on Dec. 18 at Mount Sinai Medical Center, the Sun-Sentinel reported. Three days later, small spots began to appear on his feet and hands. He went to the emergency room at Mount Sinai, where he has worked in private practice for 15 years.

Michael's blood count was "far below normal ranges" and he was admitted into the ICU, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Just days before the last resort surgery, he suffered a stroke and died.

...can I just get the disease again every so often? It worked out fine for me the first time, so based on my priors I trust it more than the vaccine.
I somehow haven't gotten it yet, even though I don't follow the COVID guidelines. Everyone I know who's gotten it follow them to the T.

Those blood results would be interesting.
you do sometimes see something similar in patients on the immune-modulating drugs like humira. They can be fine and then suddenly their white cells are just wiped out over a day or so and they wind up in hospital needing colony stimulating factors to recover or knocked out by an infection that they’d usually not even notice.
This by the way is why you need LONG follow ups on drugs and vaccines. The power of smaller sample sizes is lesser.
I suspect we will see immune effects, the transverse myelitis and the Bell’s palsy seem to say this can potentially harm nerves and if this guys death is linked (and it may or may not be but let’s hope it’s investigated properly) then it could imply immune damage to blood as well.

I suspect an allergic reaction of some kind.
Makes sense to me. Government health advisors have already said that you should not take this if you have allergies. I suspect this RNA vaccine instructs cells to "produce x" to fight against the Coronavirus, then he got infected with Coronavirus and his vaccinated body went into a massive autoimmune response and he died from it.

Never gonna happen, might as well get used to it
Tbh if it gets that bad I have an excuse for staying home the rest of my life. *yawn*

But nah, I doubt it will be a forever thing. There's not a single pandemic from the past that hasn't gone away in time. It just depends on how people get shit done that it leaves sooner or later.

One dude dying amongst thousands isn't too worrying. That said, I hope it is investigated. I really want the vaccine to be effective because I'm about done with the chink virus, I just wanna go back to normal life. (:_(
Yeah, but it's alarming that you have a better chance of dying from the vaccine than from the virus.

Bit of a powerlevel, but my mom buys into most of the COVID hysteria as a retired RN. I say most because even she doesn't want the vaccine right now. Still doesn't make up for how medical professionals have vastly overreacted to what amounts to the flu and somehow expect that a COVID vaccine would work better than the flu vaccines that they know are guesswork every year.
Am not against vaccines. Have all my immunizations, including shingles and pneumonia. My problem is with this particular vaccine. Having survived one life-threatening condition and having very recently dodged another, not taking any unnecessary risks with an unproven vaccine. Give it a year, then I'd look to get the most resent iteration of the vaccine. Have zero confidence in government any more, no trust. Everything after the first two weeks of house arrest has been all political control. People have had enough. In the state I live in, Insanity (also known as CA) the latest round of house arrests seem to have had no effect. Cases growing, yet not aware of any contingency hospitals opening.

Maybe it's time to just call it a day and let things go naturally. In a state run by competent people believe this would have already happened. Here, no way. The people will keep being fucked over, seemingly forever. Hope my numbers come up tonight or tomorrow night so I can escape back to the USA.

You and me both, I have no interest in being a guinea pig. Don't vaccines typically need a year or two worth of development first and then another year or two of testing before they are given to the public at large?
measles, mumps, rubella, and polio all took 4+ years of development before deemed safe for the public at large.
Fuck are you smoking if you think I'm gonna take a 6 month developed vaccine for a coof? The side effects are probably worse than the disease. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but damn if this doesn't sound like they're purposefully trying to nerf all the at risk folk.

These vaccines were all developed in the 60s and the way how they worked was entirely different from what this new type of vaccine does.
Some of the vaccines you mentioned used a weakened and less dangerous version of the virus or neutralized the virus, so it's hardly a surprise you'd need a much longer time to figure out how to do that, then check for success and reiterate based on your findings.

Both in terms of technology as well as how they made the vaccine was a lot more time consuming than what the new type of vaccine does and how it is made. RNA-vaccines mimick the function of the older types of vaccines that used neutralized viruses, so it's not a completely new method of making the body immune, the production of the vaccine is, since it doesn't rely on the time consuming and difficult process of producing and then neutralizing the virus.
That being said, this thing is of course not foolproof and there are always risks attributed with this vaccine (as with any other). What I'm trying to say here is that comparing the developement time of those old vaccines with this new vaccine is a bit off the mark.

What endlessly amazes me though are reports of the vaccine producing mild coof-like symptoms like that's an indication that it's bad. There is no better way for someone to show off their ignorrance towards how a vaccine works if the intended reaction of the immune system surprises them so much.

This assumption that everything should take as long as it did to develop 60 years ago is silly.
