Look at his booking dates here: His first stay was when he made the initial Knife Necklace threat. He was in for a month and 6 days and then presumably sent to the loony bin. The second booking is from January to May 12th, but he's only out for about 13 hours before being let back in. Just a couple oddities about all of this.

Escambia County, Florida, like the entire rest of the state basically, is in a second wave of covid infections and therefore is in a still peaking second wave of deaths from the spread of the virus. Given John's age and probably compromised immune status from his insane lifestyle, I wouldn't be shocked to find out he coofed to death. The release from custody this month is also in the wake of a state wide triage of at risk age range detainees to try and control the viral spread in the prison system. So contextually, I think he got a viral removal from life.

I poked around on some obituary aggregates and couldn't find anything for him. Poor insane bastard, no one to even write him an obituary or care about claiming his body. I guess that's what happens when you burn familial bridges being a crazy sex pest

Florida has rules regarding who can get a death certificate that includes the cause of death. Since Bulla was a homeless man who doesn't necessarily have interested next of kin, I tried to see if the Escambia County/Pensacola municipal offices, or the state office, would issue one due to "public interest" and leveraged the sex offender status. They all shut me down, sadly. Hoping we find out in the future.
