Note: My next few posts will be infodumps about Lori’s extensive skinwalking history. Due to the ridiculous amount of material, please forgive my focus on summarized facts over humor. It’s related to many issues regarding identity: wishful identification, magical thinking, parasocial relationships, narcissism, otherkin, pretend play, escape to fantasy, identity disturbance, etc. Simply put, Lori is batshit fucking crazy. Despite pleas from people over the years to get psychological help, she refuses to seek treatment or take responsibility for her actions. When the real world contradicts Lori's delusions of grandeur, she opts to be a cartoon character rather than face reality.

Usagi Tsukino from Sailor Moon
The Sailor Moon anime series debuted in Japan in 1992 and America in 1995. Usagi Tsukino, a 14-year-old schoolgirl and superhero, is the main character with many Mary Sue-ish traits: exceptional beauty, Rapunzel hair, magic powers, a dashing star crossed-lover, and a circle of devoted protectors. She is usually the center of attention as well as a main love interest, a beloved friend, a magical girl warrior, a reincarnated princess, a future queen, and a messianic figure. With so many special qualities, it’s understandable that an egomaniac would want to skinwalk as Usagi.
In the early 2000s, Lori began cosplaying at anime conventions instead of graduating from high school. She quickly developed a reputation as a big name fan and divisive figure in Sailor Moon fan communities.
Lori’s online persona mimicked the character Usagi with lots of kawaii emojis and cartoonishly bad spelling. She used Usagi's "genki girl" attitude and poor academic performance as camouflage for her own illiteracy. Despite her efforts, Lori’s toxic personality often shone through the facade and revealed her true personality: abrasive, rude, conceited, jealous, dull, and belligerent. She bullied other fans, harassed fellow cosplayers, and regularly engaged in one-upmanship. Her love for the anime series soon devolved into complete and utter obsession. Here are some Lori quotes:

Lori’s Sailor Moon skinwalking phase began around 2001 (age 15) and went partially dormant around 2018 (age 31). One of the earliest traces of Lori’s skinwalking tendencies can be found on an old website post from 2000 called “YKYWTMSMW(You Know You Watch Too Much Sailor Moon When...).” Here are some of her notable entries:

NAME: Lori Cerda reportedly hates three things: "rival" cosplayers, her mother, and her real first name - Lorena. This resentment plus her deranged personality has resulted in a history of using Sailor Moon related names and nicknames. On her first website Itsudemo.net, Lori initially called herself the “East Coast Sailor Moon” before settling on her now infamous cosplay alias Usagi Kou ("ooh-sa-gee ko"). Lori even claimed on several occasions that her legal name was Serenity...just like Usagi's past royal incarnation Princess Serenity.

HAIR: Hair was and is a central element to Lori’s skinwalking. Like a small child, Lori believes the use of real hair for cosplay is more authentic and, therefore, superior to wigs. In her mind, a person who wears a Sailor Moon wig is just playing dress-up but a person who grows their hair long, dyes it blond, and styles it regularly in odango (hair buns) is materializing the TRUE and HONEST Sailor Moon. Lori began wearing her hair in Usagi’s distinctive pigtail buns in the early 2000s and was very outspoken about the special hairdo to garner attention. She falsely claimed that she didn't need hair extensions to achieve the unusual style. This lie was confirmed during the Kou Coup in April 2005 when Lori's minions revolted and revealed her secrets to the cosplay world via LiveJournal:

Lori debuted her “real hair” Sailor Moon cosplay at anime conventions in 2004. When asked for hairdo tips by other weebs, Lori haughtily refused to discuss her methods, evaded questions, and bragged about her hairstyling talent. As the "realest" Sailor Moon, she carefully guarded her odango secrets while insulting other cosplayers for their inferior "Usagi-ness."

Hair is one of many mechanisms she uses to draw attention to herself and her cosplay "realness." At one point, Lori claimed that she started wearing Usagi's signature hairstyle years before watching Sailor Moon and regularly referred to the hairdo as "my hairstyle." Like the special snowflake that she is, Lori often wore the odango hairstyle in public and relished the attention she received.

Lori's delusions of Sailor Moon grandeur warped the way she viewed herself and the world. Instead of being an Usagi fan, she decided that she was Usagi and every waking moment of her life was now cosplay. Without a GED or any longterm goals, Lori's life trajectory became increasingly bleak and her allergy to work grew more severe. When the real world failed to recognize how very special she was, Lori could retreat into fantasy to avoid the inconveniences of reality and adulthood by being Usagi.

In Sailor Moon, Usagi is protected from evil by her loyal team of planetary sailor senshi (soldiers) - Sailor Mercury, Sailor Jupiter, etc. With her own skinwalking transformation in progress, it was time for Lori to acquire "real life" Sailor Moon characters to populate her fantasy world and support her moon princess lifestyle. Ever the predator, she hunted for impressionable young anime fans and started assembling her Kewl Kou Klan cult of personality.

Do you happen to know of her antics between skin walking Sailor Moon and her current skin walking of Zero Two? I like to think she started skin walking Zero Two because trying to pretend to be nice, caring and selfless like Usagi was too draining so she picked a cunty character to make it easier on herself.

Despite Kevin's recent posts about their financial struggles, Lori taught the haters a lesson by barging into T-Mobile and demanding the most expensive new model. He celebrated the momentous occasion by dressing up like a futuristic parking lot attendant and begging people to subscribe to his queen's "super spicy" Instagram account.

I wonder when they'll break up. I think if there was no Covid-19 and no lockdowns they'd have broken up already. At the same time I'm surprised there hasn't been a breaking point in their relationship. Domestic abuse rates went up because of the stay at home orders. To me, she's always looked older than her age and being proana hasn't helped. There's an old saying I'm going to badly mangle here but they used to say, 'After 30 you chose between your face or your fanny' , meaning you can keep a nice figure or keep a young face, never both.
