There was retired and probably active-duty military involved in the peaceful protests. The generals in their ivory tower don't matter much if their soldiers won't follow their orders to start shooting and their average officer is like Lt. Colonel Fatfuck Vindman. I mean I'm sure plenty would but even in China of all places Tiananman Square got out of hand because soldiers weren't shooting and even some higher ranking officers refused to order a massacre.

Watched the video. He only touches what happened January the 6th for like a minute but it's all empty platitudes about how bad it is for the rule of law, then does his stump speech about the wall.

I really don't get it, man. If he just purely cucked it'd be one thing, but what schizophrenia gets Drumpf to say 'This is what happens when people have their will denied' one day to 'This mob will pay' the next to 'I did nothing wrong, remember the BLM riots, that's the problem' today and then also 'Law and order, lawless mob' later the same day.

I've said this elsewhere on the farms. Rightoids are certainly the biggest threat to society, but not in any kind of direct way. Cliff notes of what's going on when government says this:
1) Government likes to make out that anyone who is a threat to the government is a threat to society at large, although this even proves that untrue, by relying on people conflating the government with society, the people allow the state to protect itself while thinking that the state is protecting them.
2) Unlike the slavering hoardes of the left, right-wingers are a threat to society at large because they like bombs, which are known to cause collateral damage. When the left is mad at the government, they just light Wal-Mart on fire and kill a couple people while looting TVs. When the right is actually mad enough to go on offense, even when trying to avoid unwanted casualties, the methods of the right are much less controllable. Oh, you thought everyone at the abortion clinic went home for the night before you placed your timer-activated pipe-bomb at the rear of the building?

Too bad that's employee parking and Suzy forgot her purse before going to the gym.

The right isn't a threat to the public because of their targets of choice, but because of their tactics.

The biggest part of the issue is white supremacist groups, though, since those tend to implode on themselves in spectacular fashion and they often start using explosive devices against each other in pursuit of their internal power struggles. And since all white supremacists are right-wing, well, that makes the entire right-wing the threat.

Seeing a lot of people criticizing trumps decision to distance himself from the "protesters" Just wanted to add a little bit of historical context because A very similar set of circumstance comes to mind

In late 1920s early 1930s Germany the nazi party was rising massively in popularity and Hitler had need of a "physical arm" of the party to break up enemy political events and generally harrass (beat and kill) political rivals. Enter Ernst Röhm, Hitlers long time friend and possible gay lover., he forms the SA which in German means Storm Detachment. So Ernst is an old WW1 wardog and he goes around recruiting THOUSANDS of ex WW1 vets and other unemployed Germans that were sick of how the Weimar Republic was handling the Post war world, not to mention the Great depression

These guys are STUPID effective. Communist political rally happening in your town? Not if the SA has anything to say about it. They would get piss drunk and go start open brawls with their political rivals in the street, then when they were defeated, fighting any local who happened to pass by and then the police that were sent to subdue them. So to recap they are very effective politically but are very wild and unkempt and defiantly not who the average German thinks of as a "noble warrior"

So by 1934 Ernst had grown the SA to 2.5 million men, that's more than most nations fielded as a whole land army in that era and Hitler was starting to get really nervous about the other nations realizing the reality of what was going on because the treaty of Versailles limited Germany military to 100,000 and Hitler was already violating the hell out of that outright, he didn't need 2.5 million drunken assholes fucking up his carefully laid plans. But Ernst was publicly and privately calling for the SA to be incorporated into the army proper and that He, Ernst Röhm should be placed in supreme command of all ground forces. That wouldn't do AT ALL, the German military was proud and disciplined and hitlers generals flat out told him they would not accept the SA as German soldiers.

All of this leads to June 30th 1934, The Night Of The Long Knives. Hitler is now BFFs with the ex chicken farmer Heinrich Himmler and has formed a new para military group, the black robed SS. These were cold calculated killers, not drunken hooligans. SO hitler and himmler have requested a meeting with the leaders of the SA to discuss their integration into the army and hitler just has his new boys show up to the town where the meeting is supposed to be held early that morning and drove right up to their hotel and just drug them out of their beds screaming and shot them in the head

What does any of this have to do with 1/6/2021? Am I comparing trump to Hitler? Who asked?

Now before I start going in the Opinion™ let me just say this all hinges on trump not actually being retarted and knowing his history, barring that I'm just forcing a historical analogy that does not belong

I think Trump has been massively disappointed in his fans and wanted to see stuff like what happened at the capital since the election results came out. He believes (possibly correctly) that if the entirety of the republican movement had show some teeth when all the "weird stuff" was happening with the voting instead of just tweeting that he would still be president. So now he is not only pissed but alot more desperate so what does he care throwing his "SA" to the wolves while he focus on his "SS".
