Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Oh boy I can't wait for Bethesda's Indiana Jones game, directed by Todd Howard.
...I'm not joking about that by the way. That JUST got announced. Not one day after the announcement.

And if you're wondering, yes: it will be a microtransaction-heavy mess.

Seriously though, I'm just gonna look forward to the inevitable shitstorm that will come when they announce that the Indy game will be an Xbox exclusive.

So, WorldClassBullshitters decided to completely buck the fad infecting the Fandom Menace and a large chunk of the Star Wars community by coming out and calling the "Civil War Within Lucasfilm" narrative as a steaming pile of bullshit. People like Geeks + Gamers, Doomcock, EVS and others are riding that rumor for clickbait videos and easy rage content, but WCB decided to use their brains and remember that all of these assholes at Lucasfilm work at the same company, and that for all of the fandoms evangelizing of Filoni, he's just as much a LFL Waterboy and SJW as the people working on The High Republic.

It's good to see some one in this feckless horde of Filoni sycophants employing something resembling rational thought, and refusing to let the wool and empty nostalgia of The Blandalorian blind them to the state of the franchise.

Also, Anna "ThatStarWarsGirl" got blocked by High Republic Author Cavan Scott, despite them having zero interactions whatsoever:

Heard about that. I wouldn't get too excited...it's being developed by Machine Games, the same people that ran Wolfenstein into the ground. They might have to tone down some of their creative impulses due to the PG-13 nature of the source material, and LFL's content parameters, but I would still expect a wealth of questionable design decisions and vapid Swede PC crap that infected New Colossus and Youngblood.

The potential for this is massive, however. LFL has sat on the Indiana Jones IP for almost a decade; no novels, no comic books, no new merch or video games...and I have no idea why, considering the brand doesn't have or require the same level of rigid continuity as Star Wars, and is ripe for one-shot adventures in multiple mediums. That's what made the Bantam novels and the Dark Horse comics so good...even the Young Indy TV show that everyone seems to hate (but I loved). And with the advancements of graphics, and the template provided by games like the Tomb Raider Reboot and Far Cry, there's so much that could be done with a current-gen game.

It'll probably suck, though. Guess I'll just play Emperor's Tomb for the 8th time when the new game comes out.
Honestly, WCB much like E;R were the only ones shitting on Disney SW before it was the trending thing to do regardless of popularity and were the only ones to actively criticize even TFA and Disney's early decisions, so I'm not surprised that WCB are the only ones not buying into this bullshit narrative or jerking themselves off to the idea of based boy Filoni fighting for the "soul of SW" as so many other fags are doing. I just wish they hadn't gone the way of closet furry Mauler and focused more on pointless 2 hour streams of random topics no one gives a shit about and focused more on shorter informative videos.

I wonder if Disney took the license away from EA after suddenly finding out how fucking lazily greedy they are.

Hard to say with Indy if it's going to be an Xbox exclusive. Thats going to be a case by case basis with MS.

It's possible Lucasfilm would want to cast the biggest net for a player base. Thus, making it a condition to gain IP rights.

I'm expecting something like Starfield to be a MS exclusive..

I don't mind it being borrowed from elsewhere. What bothers me is how stupid it looks
I honestly thought the coptersaber looked cool at first when I thought it was the bald guy's signature saber, much like other inquisitors and dark jedi before him, but then every bad darksider in Aladdin's Rebels got one and then every other nuInquisitor in Disney's nucanon got one and it lost its charm for me. Then any coolness factor went out the window when they started using them to Go-Go Gadget Copter.

WIRED: Lucasfilm Games' New Partnerships Mean the Galaxy's the Limit.

Well, time for me to eat crow. Ubisoft is making an open world Star Wars game.

So many years of potential good will wasted by partnering up with the worst company out there.

And the jackasses still plan to work with them.

So retarded mistakes only to backtrack them while refusing to admit how much they fucked up.

The exclusivity deal as being bottleneck to the goal doesn't even begin to point out all the shortcomings from teaming up with EA.

As for Ubisoft making a game, I'm mixed. Even if its decent, it'll just take place in the same woke Chinese bootleg sequel universe as the Squadrons game.
Just give me unneutered 1313.
If only. But knowing how incompetent Kennedy's team choices were when this all began, the idiots probably threw away everything without much thought when they canned all 150 employees. And even then they would never allow a game starring Boba Fett (or the original 1313 MC) alone unless he's given a female mentor to put him in his place or make him look dumb while forcing in a bunch of unneeded sequel references.

Just a general question, sorry if I'm breaking up a conversation, but are there any Star Wars or Star Wars adjacent channels worth subscribing to on YouTube? I keep bumping into the same giant Disney shills whenever I go searching. If not channels, maybe just videos of interest? I'm interested in the making of/concept of the movies and the old EU lore in specific.

Yeah, but it was highly unlikely they would completely abandon working with EA. Despite them being completely undeserving of exclusivity, Fallen Order was a big success. Squadrons also did quite well. In the end, money talks.

Atleast now EA will have some sort of oversight as to what and when they are producing Star Wars games.

Honestly, Lucasfilm taking the "Games Workshop" approach is the best possible outcome at this time. Despite it having the stink of Nu Star Wars...

As far as the Ubisoft: it's going to be "check off the box" assasins creed SW.

It could be very good(Black Flag). But, more than likely, it will be merely serviceable. It sounds like the game will be rushed out quickly...

I wish they had a brain and finally give us a privateer influenced game.

I'm actually banking on a division clone with a star wars skin. The engine they are using is the same as the division. Ubi has four main engines that they use for their big franchises. Anvil. Dunia, Disrupt and Snowdrop. Anvil is mainly used for Assassins Creed but weirdly, Rainbow Six Siege and the recent Ghost Recon games. Dunia is Far Cry, which is a cannibalized version of an old crytek engine. Disrupt is Watch Dogs. And snowdrop, which was made for the Division and more or less only been used for the Division. Unless you count the weird Mario/Rabbid/XCOM game they made 2 years ago.

Just take the Division, throw a star wars skin on it, make about 6 different 'planets' (cities), change the bad guys to a shitload of trandoshans gammoreans and aqualish and you're done. $60 bucks please. $20 season pass for skins and 2 new 'planets'

A Star Wars reskin of For Honor could be nice. A Ghost Recon but with Clone Troopers too.

By the way, does anyone have that Twitter screenshot of a Disney shill telling people to stop asking for 1313 or any other "old" game and instead buy the new product?

Thor Skywalker, The Scoundrel's Cantina.

And the jackasses still plan to work with them.
Maybe that means that EA will continue to support the SW mobile games.

Yeah, I could see the division angle as well. All we know is that it's "open world" and has about a year worth of development so far...

The only Star Wars centric channel I'm subbed to is That Junkman, good for toy spergery and nostalgia.

Just avoid places like BLevelStarWars and his friends, they're SJWs that want to hijack the Fandom Menace.
