There's a stark difference between WANTING something and ACCEPTING something.

Anyone that pops a boner at the thought of their nation ripping itself to shreds is as smooth-brained as it gets. However, all non-violent means for petitioning the government have been stripped away. There is a small window where things could still be turned around, but as long as those in the ivory tower want to double-down on the things that have brought us to this point, there is only one outcome.

Probably because they got spooked real hard. I think the establishment both hates the right and is genuinely afraid of them. This is going to haunt them for a very long time, even if it was mostly the protesters that got fucked over and none of the politicians got hurt.

I honestly don’t think it’s a “left gets preferential treatment issue” like some MAGA people are making it out to be. I think it’s the simple fact that the BLM riots were aimless chaos that only fucked over the working class and hurt their cause while the riot in DC directly threatened the establishment.

I really think it would benefit most people to stop looking at it as a left vs right issue. Don’t fuck with the people in charge unless you want to get hurt.

In all fairness, intent, message, target, and speed are kind of a factor here. I don't support the BLM riots but they usually started off as some kind of protest and then Antifa shows up and fucks it up for everyone.
There were tons of videos of protesters trying to stop Antifa and other opportunists from looting and shit, but you can't really convince opportunists to stop what they're doing with morality.

This is also probably being done to send a message to everyone in the US, basically saying "Hey, you fuck up shit on the streets, you don't fuck with governmental shit" so that way the next time this happens people won't attempt to attack the capitol or other government facilities. Because 5 deaths this time isn't shit, but it could have gone left real fast with very little change.

It's definitely not preferential treatment since there were plenty of arrests during that whole period. It's the fact that there's a world of difference between rioting and breaking some stores and deliberately targeting a branch of government. They should count themselves lucky they didn't end up black bagged.

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — An Arkansas man who broke into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office during an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol last week made his first appearance in federal court Tuesday.

Richard Barnett, 60, of Gravette, appeared via video conference before U.S. Magistrate Judge Erin Wiedemann. Wiedemann said during the hearing that a criminal complaint against Barnett had been amended to note that he was carrying a stun gun when he broke into the Capitol. A charge against him was enhanced to entering a restricted building without lawful authority while carrying a dangerous weapon.

That charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

Barnett, who addressed Wiedemann as "ma'am" and "your honor," also faces charges of stealing public property and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

Yeah. I’ve always been one of those “there’s merit to both sides” memers when I’m not shitposting, but I think their reaction is perfectly warranted. They have to make an example of these people for security reasons. Is it right? Maybe not. But I understand why they’re doing what they are to some extent as long as it stops here and doesn’t go full on “everyone that’s ever posted on 4chan is an accessory” psychosis. We might be headed there but I hope cooler and calmer minds prevail.

This should’ve been the moment that maybe brought some of this country together more in finding some common ground, considering how both sides are now on the opposing sides from last year. The sad truth is that the average far left and fat right guys are so entrenched in their tribalism they can’t realize it. I bet if you did a Venn diagram of the personalities that showed up to protest you’d see a lot more overlap than you think,

2020 taught me that I was too patriotic and that most Americans are actually hella fucking stupid and overly emotional, right up with the rest of the world.
