Let's steer the conversation away from the obvious (albeit irrelevant) attention seeker back to one who's name is actually in the thread title: Chloe has been getting neck deep in her own twisted lies and misinformation as she tries to battle people who (allegedly) actually have qualifications over the prevalence rates of DID.
This refers to the following instagram infographic.
The fallout (screen captures from r/DissociaDID):
"Our comments policy is very clear and also fair". Ironic, considering Chloe reveals that she didn't even write her company's TOS, to the surprise of zero people.
Clearly, the prospect of being wrong and the realisation that her empire is slowly crumbling under the defiance of her increasingly disloyal fans is making Chlo-bo a little angry. One of the people who recently posted a critical comment claimed to have been blocked by her, but as soon as screen caps began to circulate, Chloe unblocked and replied to her.
In another reply Chloe suggests the rate may be as high as 12% of the
entire world population (Screen capture from r/DissociaDID).
However, the prevalence of just having any mental illness at all is less than 12%, and it's likely that the number she's referring to actually is the percentage of a very selective sample of
psychiatric patients, not people in general. It's also likely that it's the prevalence of dissociative disorders, which may include derealisation/depersonalisation and variations of PTSD -- not just DID. However, if 12% is an accurate number, it can be safely assumed that several of we Kiwi speds are 'systems', and thus our opinions on Chloe hold more water, right? The trauma of being called an internet troll is splitting off another alter as I -- erm, I mean "we" -- speak.
After fighting tooth and nail that she's right and everyone else is wrong, clearly incensed by the fact that others can be more educated than she is, she adds the following edit to her OP. Incidentally, not one of the redditors, nor I, could find a source for the ISSTD's claim that 1.5% of the population have DID, aligning well with its already sketchy reputation.
EDIT - Forgot this one!: Chloe also mistakenly claims that MPD was reconceptualised as DID in the DSM-V, while it was actually the DSM-IV. Aside from the obvious question of why she keeps referring to the DSM despite the fact that the International classification of diseases (ICD) 10 is the standard in pretty much every country besides the US., if she had just put the effort required for a google search, she would have found the correct information. She has such arrogance that she believes the distorted facts that she pulls out of her ass are correct, claiming a source for information that never existed in the first place.
Another keen-eyed reddit-goer spotted the fact that the body hair in that filtered photo of "Kyle" is actually photoshopped on.
I don't know how anyone would think this looks like actual hair. It looks like her armpit is caked in dirt, and exactly like one of the pre-set acrylic brush tools on GIMP or Photoshop. Anything to satiate her teen audience as they salivate for more 'Kyle' content. For all her desire to be an 'educator', it is pretty hilarious that she clearly wants to invoke a parasocial relationship between her fans and one of her characters.
