Yes, this is exactly what you think it is....

Here's his reaction to Caillou getting removed off PBS:

First time hearing that Caillou got canceled, and it's from a cow no less. Media fails me yet again. Parents need to start being parents and stop with this madness. I grew watching shit in the 1970's and 80's and I grew up fine. Stuff from the 90's and 2000's is tame in comparison.
I think the main reason parents disliked Caillou so much was just how grating his voice was, I can't think of anything else in such a tame show to be upset by.

Same. Classic Sesame St, Mr. Dressup, Friendly Giant, etc. in the 70s for me. Some of the shit from Sesame St. made my playmates cry ffs! (the 1-2-3 red ball being ground to powder at the end of it's segment, LOL) My kids grew up with Dragon Tales, Clifford, Rolly Poly Olie, Bear in the Big Blue House (great closing song) and yes, Caillou in the late 90s/early 2Ks. There was nothing wrong with any of that shit, it was tame as warm milk.

There's a good reason why people have nostalgia for older shows from that era and shows that are similar to those. They were good and stayed in your mind for ages. I can't say that about anything Liberals today make. Usually it's trash or going to be trash because they can't help themselves. They also need to throw sexuality into their cartoons.

Back in the day we just had PSA's and telling people not to hate black people and the majority of us listened. Now we have to worry about peoples kids being dumb enough to eat a tide pocket. Like have they not seen this video?

This show was way after my time and I honestly never even heard of it before this website. Mainly because of the GoAnimate speds and their obsession with grounding this kid.

I dunno,, I'd call Ren and Stimpy a lot of things, but tame Isn't one of them. There's always weird/creepy shit that sneaks its way in.

I dated a girl with kids once and she would get annoyed when Caillou was on TV. At first I thought she was overreacting, but I understood after watching a few episodes.

I hope he writes a fanfic about Dragon Tales characters executing Trump, solely because people shit themselves after they die and most of Erik's fics involves the titular character shitting themselves.

90's cartoons certainly got wilder than the shit I saw a decade or two earlier. And yes, Caillou has that effect on adults. Preschool TV in general is a waste of braincells.

I knew a couple of guys a year older than me in middle school that unironically watched Bear in the Big Blue House. They weren't disabled either. I wound up having to watch them with it a few times and I just didn't see the appeal or the point.
My brother loved that show as a small child and I tagged along to watch as a slightly older child. It's fine for what it is, but in terms of being a kids' show that older kids can watch later? Nah, this ain't it. Unless you're very emotionally neglected and lonely and find comfort in the bear being nice to "you" directly.

Apparently Bear in the Big Blue House ended up being extremely popular among autistic kids thanks to being less stimulating and focusing on basic social skills that autistic kids struggle with. Bear's puppeteer even went on to try and make an independent show specifically for autistic kids during the reboot Kickstarter bubble. When most shows for younger kids feel like they go out of their way to annoy the adults that get stuck watching them it's not surprising that some people would latch onto the ones that don't.

Back to Taz: I was flipping through his DA and found the attached image. At first I thought he had started making fake Master System game covers about retro stuff, but that would make sense. Instead Taz's usual gang is just hanging out at a school desk in a featureless grid.
