It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

Bill & Melinda Gates revealed as largest private farmland owners in US

  • Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife have amassed the largest portfolio of private farmland in the US, according to The Land Report.
  • The Gates’ own an estimated 242,000 acres of farmland as part of a broader 269,000-acre land portfolio across 19 states, with the largest holdings in Louisiana (69,071 acres), Arkansas (47,927 acres), and Arizona (25,750 acres).
  • A spokesperson for Cascade Investment, which is chaired and controlled by Bill Gates, declined to comment on specific land holdings to The Land Report, but told the magazine it is “very supportive of sustainable farming.”

Why it matters:

Since Bill began stepping back from management duties at tech giant Microsoft in the early 2000s, the Gates’ have become known for their investments and philanthropic efforts focused on enabling sustainable development.

Agrifood is one area where the couple have sought to put their substantial wealth to work. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation donated almost $20 million to the International Rice Research Institute between 2007 and 2010, in part to support its development of fortified rice varieties. It has also invested at least $100 million into the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, which aims to enhance smallholder productivity using science and technology.

The Gates’ have also invested in agrifoodtech startups, either through their private foundation or via other investment vehicles, including crop protection companies AgBiome and Enko Chem, dairy data platform Stellapps, food waste reduction player Apeel Sciences, biotech startup Gingko Bioworks, and ‘lab-grown’ meat maker Memphis Meats.

Cascade Investment is a shareholder in plant-based protein companies Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods, as well as agricultural equipment maker John Deere.

Microsoft, where Bill Gates continues to be one of the largest individual shareholders, has launched a number of agritech initiatives globally, including in the US and India.

Cascade Investment is a shareholder in plant-based protein companies Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods, as well as agricultural equipment maker John Deere.
John Deere, who is notorious for locking down their equipment's firmware and screwing their customers has Bill Gates as its largest shareholder. That guy finds a way to be the biggest ghoul in the room wherever he goes.

Conservatives have a Stronger disgust response to a lot of things. The left like to spin this as then being a load of old fuddy duddies but objectively disgust is a protective response that has evolved fulfilling a need. Feeling disgust at things like rotten food, pus, insect egg-looking things (like lotus pods, barf) is adaptive because that stuff can carry disease. The disgust response to behaviours is labelled as all manner of ‘phobia these days but it has a logical root. In that light, perhaps the stronger disgust response is the more correct one, and a tolerance of filth, whether physical or societal, less so.

Man Lived at Chicago's O'Hare Airport for 3 Months Before Arrest

The California man went to O'Hare on Oct. 19, but was afraid to fly home because of the coronavirus

A California man who told police that the coronavirus pandemic left him afraid to fly managed to live at Chicago's O'Hare International for three months.

Aditya Singh, 36, is charged with felony criminal trespass to a restricted area of an airport and misdemeanor theft after he was arrested Saturday. At a court hearing on Sunday, a judge ruled that the Orange, California, man could be released if he paid $1,000, but said that Singh was prohibited from setting foot in the airport.

As of Monday morning, Singh remained in the Cook County Jail.
Assistant Public Defender Courtney Smallwood said Singh does not have a criminal record. She also said it was unclear why Singh, who is unemployed, came to Chicago or if he has ties to the area.

According to prosecutors, Singh went to O'Hare on Oct. 19, but was “scared to go home due to COVID.”

On Saturday, two United Airlines employees approached Singh and asked for his identification. Singh lowered his mask and showed a badge that actually belonged to an operations manager who had reported it missing on Oct. 26. The employees then called police, who took Singh into custody.

"It shows how things can slip through the cracks," transportation expert Joseph Schwieterman said. "You get an idea at the airport and can go weeks without being detected. It’s really remarkable that in this day and age and security, this occurred."

Singh told authorities the he had found the badge and said he was able to survive by getting food from other passengers.

"A lot of people no doubt look back and are embarrassed, gate agents, that probably saw this individual," Schwieterman said.

Before she granted Singh bail, Cook County Judge Susana Ortiz was clearly troubled that someone could remain in a secured area for so long at the airport without anyone noticing.

“The court finds these facts and circumstances quite shocking for the alleged period of time that this occurred,” the judge said. “Being in a secured part of the airport under a fake ID badge allegedly, based upon the need for airports to be absolutely secure so that people feel safe to travel, I do find those alleged actions do make him a danger to the community."

Singh is scheduled to return to court Jan. 27.

The Chicago Department of Aviation, which oversees the city's airports, released the following statement regarding the incident:

"CDA has no higher priority than the safety and security of our airports, which is maintained by a coordinated and multilayered law enforcement network. While this incident remains under investigation, we have been able to determine that this gentleman did not pose a security risk to the airport or to the traveling public. We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners on a thorough investigation of this matter.”

Luo Lili jumped naked from her Hong Kong penthouse holding her 5-month old baby. Both died immediately after the fall.

Authorities investigating the death are probing whether Luo Lili may have suffered post-partum depression.

According to police, “The woman and the baby girl were certified dead at the scene. Initial investigation revealed that they fell from a unit. No suicide note was found.”

Luo Lili, the only daughter of a real estate tycoon in China, rubbed elbows with Hillary Clinton and other Democrat elites.

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (AP) — A former western Michigan college professor has been sentenced to prison for manslaughter in the death of his autistic teenage son, who drowned after spending an hour in an icy backyard pool with his arms restrained.
Timothy Koets, 51, was sentenced Monday to a minimum of two years in prison and a maximum of 15 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter. He had pleaded guilty in December to involuntary manslaughter and child abuse in the March 2019 death of 16-year-old Samuel Koets.
“Sam had value, and the sanction will not restore Sam, but it will recognize that all humans have value, and because of the neglect you committed, a valuable human has lost his life,” said Ottawa County Circuit Court Judge Jon Hulsing.
Samuel Koets drowned in the backyard pool at the family’s home in Georgetown Township, about 170 miles (270 kilometers) west of Detroit. His parents said he had autism, was nonverbal and functioned at the level of a 13- to 17-month-old child.
Samuel's arms were bound to keep them restrained, and authorities said Timothy and Michelle Koets would restrain Samuel’s arms to prevent him from harming himself or others.
Timothy Koets previously admitted in court that he was negligent for leaving his son unsupervised on a back deck before he left for work to teach classes at Grand Rapids Community College.
He said he woke his wife before leaving so she could watch Samuel. But Michelle Koets, who had worked a night shift as a registered nurse, fell back asleep after her husband said he was leaving.
Authorities said Koets knew his son had later gotten into the icy pool because his 13-year-old daughter texted him a photo of his son standing in the water.
The daughter told police she went around the house yelling for her mother, but no one answered. She said she saw her brother's arms were restrained and then left, but her father then asked her to check on the “freak,” the Grand Rapids Press reported.
According to court records, Koets' daughter replied that she thought her brother was stuck and sent her father another photo, showing him chest-deep in the pool water.
Koets instructed the daughter to get her mother, and after she shook her mother awake Michelle Koets sprinted to get her son out of the pool, where he had spent an hour. But Samuel had gone under and couldn’t be resuscitated despite attempts by arriving rescuers.
Koets’ attorney David Kallman called the situation a “very unique and tragic” case, noting in court Monday that his client will have to live with the consequences of his actions for the rest of his life.
But Paul Kraus, Ottawa County prosecuting attorney, said Monday that Samuel was “routinely" left unattended even though he could not care for himself. He said authorities had been called 15 times to the family home, mainly because Samuel “was unattended and had escaped from the residence.”
Timothy Koets told the court he and the family learned to manage Samuel’s autism as best as they could and mentioned that he had used the word “freak" to describe his son in a text conversation with his daughter.
“The words that I used were not good," he said Monday. “It was a way of blowing off steam and I’m not excusing myself for that, but I would never harm or abuse Sam."
After their son’s death, authorities said the Koets continued to fill their son’s Ritalin prescription for months and used the drugs themselves.
Koets was also sentenced Monday to between two and four years in prison in the Ritalin case after also pleading guilty to obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.
Michelle Koets was sentenced in June 2019 to 21 days in jail on a misdemeanor charge of obtaining a controlled substance by false representation.
Timothy Koets had been a full-time faculty member at Grand Rapids Community College, but he was terminated by the school in January 2020.

Broad in small town in small religious state, is surprised when the god-bothering idiot that manages her fast-food work fires her, for discovery of porn done on the side. Let me be clear, they're all inbred idiots, and I would fuck none of them -

At this time, I have been unable to find any non-ugly pictures of Lonna Wells, or any pictures of the undoubtedly fat/old/hairy Arkansawyer woman that fired her from Taco Bell.

You aren't "wrongfully fired" even from Taco Bell when they find out you are literally a whore and are committing crimes. Even Taco Bell is not obligated to continue employing a fucking criminal whore.

I don't know about the legality of being a solo camwhore in Arkansas, but if she was charging money for people to access any content involving her getting her taco stuffed, if that illegal in Arkansas? I assume prostitution is illegal, but in the same way her stripping would have been "technically legal", there's ways around that, like being a sloppy queso burrito for a local politician, or something.

Oh it looks like it was just porn. From the "sex worker" SJW bullshit language I thought she was actually a literal prostitute. I forgot they call everyone a sex worker. Still Taco Bell can fire you for that. Employment-at-will bitches.

All parties involved are ugly, have nasty genitals, and I would not fuck them.

The whopping difference is a camera.

A friend of mine once had the idea of opening a brothel that films everything, but the clients get to purchase the rights of the footage at the same price as a decent streetwalkers fee with a contract for legal purposes to prevent "blackmail", so technically it would be amateur porn (legal), but really it would be randoms fucking the "porn stars" for corner ducats and a hush money contract.

The whopping difference is a camera.
And there's no particularly sensible reason this suddenly changes it from a crime to a non-crime, but that's actually legally relevant if this cunt who got her taco in a twist decides to raise a wrongful termination suit. Because while it's obvious that an employer can fire for cause for actual criminal behavior, once you get into employment-at-will law where, while they can fire you for nearly anything, if there's anything gender-related about it, you start getting into jury issues, i.e. cases can go past summary judgment.

I really don't see it going terribly far about a Taco Bell job but who knows? There are energetic lawyers out there, and a big company like that really doesn't want some lengthy ongoing legal proceeding that also on top of just existing, generates an endless series of clickbait stories. Because how many taco jokes about a porno actress can you possibly make? Answer: there is no limit.
