A bit of a niche but Vito Russo’s The Celluloid Closet (1981) is a well researched and fascinating look at the history of gays and lesbians in film, both on and offscreen.

ETA As I was looking up its availability on Amazon, guess what’s (still) the number one seller in LGBTQ+ studies? :story:

It is already since HER is kissing troon as since the beginning. What they can't give troons tho is women who are willing to date them. Perhaps there are a few bi women on HER who want to date the slightly less horrible looking transbian creatures but I doubt it.
