My biggest concern is that at that point, Chris will decide that he wants to join his parents and 'evolve' into a true sonichu of his own, leading to him doing some absolutely awful suicide attempt that either succeeds because he kills himself in some horribly overblown ritualistic way, or it fails and all he accomplished was severely hurting himself in some horribly overblown ritualistic way.

Either way it doesn't end well.

I'm sure even the Idea Guys tried to talk Chris out of suicide and if he does start considering it we'll know and let the relevant people know. Nobody here, bar a few A-logs, wants Chris to die both because we have a conscience and because dead cows don't produce milk.

Yeah, when Barb dies it'd be the perfect time for super edgy weens to come and try and persuade Chris to kill himself, it doesn't help there's a lot of 'reincarnated in a magical world' style animes around right now.

I think Chris has finally learned enough not to interact with weens. I don't think Chris will kill himself once Barb joins the Great Internet Lumberjack in the sky. Barring his self-delusions about goddess-hood, he's got way too much ego and won't have the balls to an hero. Once Barb is gone, starving to death seems a more likely scenario.

On one hand I agree about the ego thing but on the other this is the man was successfully blackmailed for thousands of dollars over a threat of a death ray on the moon being fired at his fictional town, I have no idea how far his naive beliefs will go (Plus Chris still seems happy to talk to weens who larp with him).

Like I would not be too surprised if I heard Chris had died due to a ween convicing Chris he needed to zap himself with a high voltage taser to jumpstart the merge or some other nonsense.

Barb has a niche next to Bob's at the cemetery, her name's on it and everything. Does that mean it's bought and paid for, or is there a chance someone might be in for a nasty surprise if it turns out she was a few dollars short?

Generally in cases like this if it's a burial plot both graves will be offered as a couple's plot at the time of death of the first, some people will pre-pay if they pre-planned the funeral but pre-planned funerals are not as common as they should be. So it'd all come down to if she paid up the money at an earlier time to hold the second piece of land for herself- if it's a grave. This doesn't look like a tombstone though? If it's a vault for cremated remains they probably just charge a flat rate and have a rule about it holding x amount of remains within a particular vault.

I've always been of the opinion that the sheriff's depart will have a dedicated plan/team to be dispatched once Barb dies and the bank is on it's way to kick Chris out. Chris may be the village idiot/town nuisance, but he's still exceptional and has to be handled with kid gloves.

I wonder if he'll go hedgehog defensive pose once the cops come in?

I really doubt that. If the authorities were aware of Chris' situation and wanted to step in they would have already. Not to mention how many weens and whiteknights have tried to get social workers involved, so the system there must be aware of Chris and are either ignoring him or they are incompetent.
