Yeah the wait sucks, I'm still waiting on my m85, apparently it got delayed but I still haven't gotten any estimate on how delayed.Well, looks like I've got to wait three to five weeks for my FK BRNO to arrive. Going to order a box of 7.5fk each week with my paycheck since they usually have it in stock. It's not cheap ammo, but it isn't that much more than 50rnds of high quality .45 ACP or 10mm Auto self defense ammunition, and it's actually available. At least it's paid for, so all there's left to do is wait for it to arrive.
Haven't seen what the Dems introduced, but Manchin's voting record is not the kind of thing a pro-gun control person would be a fan of, and the SCOTUS has a pro-second amendment majority now, so I wouldn't be too worried just yet. That said, giving some money to the Second Amendment Foundation and the National Rifle Association wouldn't exactly be a bad idea right now.Have you seen the shit they introduced last Monday? You should be worried, they have the power to ram that garbage through now.
The doomer in me thinks Manchin will fall in line with the Dems (he's in his 70's and may choose retirement instead of worrying about getting primaried). Meanwhile, SCOTUS has refused to hear numerous 2A cases, so I wouldn't count on them taking it up.Haven't seen what the Dems introduced, but Manchin's voting record is not the kind of thing a pro-gun control person would be a fan of, and the SCOTUS has a pro-second amendment majority now, so I wouldn't be too worried just yet. I'm trying to think of this realistically and my feeling is that right now, while Manchin wouldn't be on board with some of the most doomer boogaloo causing proposals (mandatory buybacks and confiscations, outright AWBs, making 10+ round magazines an NFA item, etc.), he will compromise on other restrictions such as background checks and waiting periods. He's at the very best, equivalent to the average fudd Republican legislator on guns. However, there were rumors about armed protests next week from the 17th-20th that sound like the most obvious honeypot ever. All it takes is some boomer tired of trusting the plan, some boogfag thinking he'll definitely make 1776 commence again now or the Feds provoking something if no one bites and the media will launch the biggest antigun offensive ever and give cover to pass those bills that just got introduced and more. The doomer in me thinks Manchin will fall in line with the Dems (he's in his 70's and may choose retirement over reelection). My only hope now is that Dems grow a brain, realize that their gun control wishlist will piss off swaths of the country to a degree that makes last week look like a picnic, and back the fuck off.
I know it won't stop them from trying, but I can't see how the Dem think their graboid wishlist will go over smoothly. All their haw-hawing about how "you can't fight the gubbmint with that there AR-15 cuz they got bombs and tanks" abruptly stopped as of last week.I'm trying to think of this realistically and my feeling is that right now, while Manchin wouldn't be on board with some of the most doomer boogaloo causing proposals (mandatory buybacks and confiscations, outright AWBs, making 10+ round magazines an NFA item, etc.), he will compromise on other restrictions such as background checks and waiting periods. Meh, I'm not the doomer type, I think that at most you might see Manchin go along with a federal level redflag law, which will suck and is unconstitutional, obviously, but wouldn't be as bad as a new AWB. Also, the SCOTUS only needs to take up one case and give a strong pro-2nd amendment ruling to derail all the gun control bullshit the Biden/Harris admin might want to push for.The doomer in me thinks Manchin will fall in line with the Dems (he's in his 70's and may choose retirement instead of worrying about getting primaried). Alas, I know they won't, because their lust for power has eclipsed their capacity for rational thought.
Roberts is a Supreme Cuckold. I highly doubt he wants to displease his buddies. Also, the SCOTUS only needs to take up one case and gives a strong pro-2nd amendment ruling to derail all the gun control bullshit the Biden/Harris admin might want to push for.
Roberts is outnumbered now, and he did strike down the Chicago handgun ban as being unconstitutional anyway. So clearly he is at times at least willing to piss off his liberal pals in the beltway. Oh and the SCOTUS also recently struck down the lockdown restrictions on houses of worship, so Roberts doesn't strike me as being a complete cuck.Roberts is a Supreme Cuckold. They can just pack the courts and neuter Heller. Have you noticed how selective they are with it? They ultimately disagree that 2A is an individual right, then turn around and attempt to justify every gun conrtol scheme they want with Scalia's "2A is not unlimited" phrase.I don't think we'd be asking for much if more cases went to the Supreme Court though.
Like I think the more damning (from a gun grabber perspective) rulings were the Heller rulings. Past that, they just need to apply Heller evenly to the shittier blue states and we'd be sitting pretty. The hard part's already done. And they seem more open to it than past courts, I think.
1. ejector spring (length depends on caliber)It's hard to find a precise list of the springs that a hipoint is supposed to come with.
The crazier ones would love to do that, however I still think it's extremely unlikely they'll successfully pull off packing the courts. They can just pack the courts and neuter Heller. Like other things about liberals, I'd resent grabbers less if they weren't so sneaky and perfidious.
Thanks. Yeah, I've gone over the manual and I can kinda eyeball some of the springs and guess some of them, but I'm not 100% certain and it's hard to find very clear, objective descriptions. Like "this spring is X inches long and has Y twists" would be excellent.1. ejector spring (length depends on caliber)
2. firing pin spring
3. sear spring (conical and on top of the sear block)
4. sear block spring (cylindrical and around the rear tail of the sear block)
5. action spring (weight depends on caliber)
6. magazine catch spring (heat treated wire used to provide tension to the catch itself, similar to a glock magazine catch spring but with a bend at one end)
7. rear sight elevation spring (conical, and optional as not all hi points will have an adjustable rear sight)
8. slide hold open spring (reversed (expanding) spring with arms that's used to hold open the slide by interacting with an armature and pivot pin when a magazine is empty, but inserted)
9. magazine safety spring (it's popular to remove this to disable the magazine safety so you may or may not see one on a used gun)
