That was mentioned in the Brony thread. Just to leave this bit behind, a co-worker of the former writer had a sense of humor and said "yeah, she's a hating trans-misogynist with privilege". Other than that, the DinoNoms person was pretty much sperging against writer who no longer works on the cartoon, thinking said writer is a racist and transphobe.

As far as I remember from reading the wiki long ago, it is for one quest where you'd marry a prince or princess to become leader of a small kingdom. Next quest however kills them both off.

From what I could find in their wiki, not really.

"A player's gender does not limit his or her skills in any way, and, with minor exceptions, it does not restrict his or her abilities. Whilst male and female players cannot necessarily do the same things in all ways, they can do equivalent things. "

And there seems to be only 3 quest's that might depend on your gender, out of the 180+ quests available in game. This are the Recruitment Drive Quest (which only female players can participate), The Giant Dwarf (which you gender will only affect how you complete it), and Throne of Miscellania (which is affected on who will you marry the prince or the princess).

In regards to your outfit there's only one restriction, which is the princess outfit can only be used by females and the prince can only be used by males. Some others outfits might change depending on your gender, but are essentially equivalent.

Oh and its worth mentioning you are free to change your gender at any time in-game by interacting with a NPC, for free.

Not really, but in the old version(not sure now. Haven't played since they put home-building in.) you could go to a wizard in the town right before the druid area and get a sex change.
