The main difference is the people at the time imagined that future would come from mankind uniting and cooperating to advance. But because Bob is a hateful prick his version comes from all the people he dislikes having been stripped out of their humanity and being grounded into Soylent Green McNuggets instead so the people-that-matter can stop wasting resources on them and focus on making that future a reality.

A little googling says MA movie theaters have been allowed to reopen since August with a maximum capacity of 50 people per room. Bob is just butthurt this pandemic has shown one of his hobbies to be obsolete, non-essential and worse, dying.

Nearly all of the major Blue metropolitan areas are surrounded by Red counties. Very, very angry and typically armed to the teeth Red counties. It is usually not to one's advantage to lack a clean, contiguous area of control, just ask West Pakistan. Nor is it in one's best interest to be bottled up in mostly urban regions while your foe has the run of the countryside, just ask Nationalist China. The mayoghouls would be better armed and trained based on the information you provided. You would also see some defections of units to the Red states from like-minded soldiers.

I don't know why Bob thinks the Red areas would just roll over without a fight or just disintegrate at the start of a conflict. They don't hop themselves up on being the modern spiritual successors to the Spartans and the Continental Army for the memes.

As we've discussed, the military would support a Republican government if the left starts an uprising. Even if right wingers are stupid enough to rebel, given that most air bases are located in red areas, whatever happens, the Republicans get air supremacy in this hypothetical civil war.

The creators said there will be a definitive winner and they won't pussy out with a vague "it's a draw" ending. Personally I'm rooting for Godzilla. Objectively Godzilla is way more powerful and resilient than King Kong but I view this as a liability that makes him LESS likely to win. I'm afraid they're gonna pull some bullshit and have Kong come out as the winner because Hollywood logic dictates that the underdog almost always wins.
