If they’re going to work to get rid of homeschooling and anything resembling school choice (and even then they’ll do things so “their people” are the faculty and staff), then I may have underestimated what Biden was going to do. I have to question that happening on a Sunday, between government people and broadcasting neither is known for working weekends.

I mean, the time stamp at the the top was a Sunday and he started out by saying "We just had..." which implies it occurred within minutes of the post, but it could have been a few days prior. Even so, it's not out of the realm of possibility to work on weekends these days. Powerleving a bit but my job is in IT and we have rotating shifts 24/7, and sometimes I work Sunday nights.

I remember there was some retard conspiracy about how long it had been taking for her to resign, but I don't know if there's a specific data by which anyone running for another office has to resign, beyond "before taking the new office." I think there's a tradition of resigning your current office to run, but I'm not even certain of that.

It's going to get really ugly if they start vetting the NCO and Officer cadre for naughty opinions and tie such inquisitions to career advancement, assignments and ability to stay in the service. We are already starting to see early signs this is where they are going, and statements like this make it seem likely there are no brakes and the stupid train. The last thing the US military needs is Political Officers like in the soviet union. Trying to foist that on them could make them mutinous.

I'm not familiar with how CA does its senatorial replacements, but in states which allow the Governor to appoint a replacement for Senate, you can time your resignation such that you get re-elected as incumbent and as such you avoid someone else you personally dislike from getting that seat in an election as the candidate of the party you're from. Obviously, states which just do a special election aren't affected by this.

This is not the case with Harris, though, as her term started in 2017 (and Senators are seated for six years).
