It honestly perplexes me how Nate manages to exist. His Patreon currently sits at around 600 bucks, the PCP is essentially dead, and Khantent is a mild success brought down by Digi's personal antics (don't quit ya day job kid). What could he possibly be doing with his free time if Khantent also has an editor and Victor films it? Nate is barely making a livable wage based on the income revenues.
I assume he just has an ass-ton of savings. I don't remember how much he was making before moving to YouTube "full-time" but he seemed to have a pretty good job, and based on what I heard he apparently lived in a shitty ghetto apartment with no A/C so he must have been living frugally off of a good wage.

Maybe that's why he doesn't do shit anymore. He doesn't have anyone to answer to anymore, he's his own boss. Ironic, right? He built up this grand persona for himself, this image of working hard and accomplishing all your goals and being a strong, independent person, only to abandon it once he reached the top of the mountain. He built a huge safety net so that he won't have anything to lose, supposedly.

We don't know shit about what he does all day long. That's the short answer. He might be already be back to doing sidejob codemonkey work from home (he left his old company on good terms).
He would never willingly admit to his fans that he might already have a side-hustle, as he himself painted this grand picture of himself.

You hear this a lot about YouTubers that work so hard for the grind of trying to make it to the top, only to lose inspiration and forget the real reason why he liked doing the things he originally wanted to do in the first place.

There’s just no sense of trying anymore.

Years ago, back when the PCP were putting out episodes regularly, he said in an episode that he had an income above the point where increased income has no measurable positive effect on happiness. There was a study that came out a few years ago putting that figure around $80K per year, which might have been what he was referring to.

It's very disheartening to see a content creator who once prided himself on being an industrious outsider artist resort to the same tactics they once criticized their normalfag contemporaries for employing. Just look at the genericity of these thumbnails.

Ask yourself, why would you willingly click on any of these? Long ago, Digi made a point to avoid using overdetailed clickbait thumbnails like these - ones with big text, avatars, funny faces, and other obnoxious elements. He even derided Mother's Basement and Nux Taku for this very practice. Say what you want about his thumbnails being that of a cute girl, but at least they weren't in your face about their videos' content nor their creator. Khantent's thumbnails just scream, "cynical clickbait" and are evocative of how soulless it truly is. Even Nate's thumbnails weren't as factory-produced as these.

Another disheartening thing about Khantent? An increasing number of Digi and Nate's fanboys are still continuing to pledge $10 each (or even $20 for, "BIG arigatous all around". Whatever that means.) for what are essentially bargain-bin Red Letter Media episodes. How much of a deluded simp does one need to be, especially if they've been fans of them during their prime, to pay for cynical mass-produced garbage by has-beens who overtly and covertly show contempt for their audiences?

To qoute Emplemon: "Downward-spiral, downward-spiral, downward-spiral, downward-spiral."

They even used something similar for their logo background:

How ironic that they would adopt the Downward Spiral's swirl design and color scheme for what is supposed to be their upward golden goose.

People on twitter are asking if his KH! shirt refers to Kingdom Hearts. I'd say yes 'cause both are totally non-nonsensical, the lore gets more twisted per installment and are marketed to man-children who think finding depth in something the size of children's pool is the coolest thing ever.

Digi was never a big Kingdom Hearts fan. He gave up playing Kingdom Hearts 1 when he couldn't beat Riku-Ansem, and he gave up on 2 because he couldn't stand playing Roxas in the prologue. The design could probably be Nate's idea, since he's the resident Kingdom Hearts expert, but the KH! shirt design doesn't really scream "Kingdom Hearts". If it did, it would probably incorporate its spiky slender silver gradient font, and/or the iconography - crowns and hearts. If anything, it just seems like a botched up abbreviation of the channel name, since there is no exclamation point after the "h" in "Khantent", nor is the "h" the starting letter of the next syllable. If anything. it should be "KT". The fact that people are associating the shirt design with Kingdom Hearts instead is both hilarious and telling of how inept the marketing for this is, despite Digi having once claimed to be an expert in that field.

I do agree that the western Kingdom Hearts fanbase is a circus in and of itself. Maybe it's got a lot to do with the cross-cultural appeal for Disney/cartoon and anime fans, combined with the juvenile goth character designs, and convoluted discovery-writer storyline for what is supposed to be an arching saga, headed by a creator who seemingly never had matured past adolescence and you have a recipe for one massive autism magnet.

The fuck, Mother's Basement thumbnails is the only thing good about his channel.

To me, they are yet to get a new audience. Everyone that watches their video is an old fan of Digi or Nate. Knowing their fanbases a bit, probably both. They need to find a way to market themselves to new watchers, but they aren't even able to do it for his main channels, so they are fucked.

Also, lmao, their lowest patron tier is five dollars?

I neither like nor respect that sycophantic cultural marxist either, but I will agree that his look better than Khantent's. As much of a trend-chaser Jeff is, at least he knows how to market to his demographic, albeit it being the lowest-common denominator.

I've stated this before, and I'll do so again, but what Digi and Nate really needed to do was capitalize on their own strengths. Digi's being his clout, analytical skills, and his ability to make his essays into narratives, and Nate's being his ability to hype things up, 4chan-level comedy, and boastful persona. Then get someone with editing skills and use their collective extensive knowledge about not just anime, but JP media in general and make the kinds of long edited videos that was once their bread and butter - stuff like Nate's video on Gurren Lagaan and Digi's videos when Davoo was still his editor.

They could have built up a brand that not only would've appealed to their established audiences, but to new viewers with the same interests as well. But these are has-beens we're talking about, and instead they never ripped off RLM and tried to beat the anitubers at their own game. The fact that Khantent's videos aren't visually stimulating by barely showing any anime footage or other images is another major reason not to watch them over other anitubers. Even Half in The Bag has more film footage than the average Khantent video. Their gimmick can only last them so long, even with their fanboys supporting them, the novelty (or lack thereof) will wear off eventually when their fans wisen up or outgrow their personal need to follow people like Digi, who they see as being in the same boat as them. The latter is probably the sole reason why a lot of Digi's fans still support him.

It's Subscribestar. That's how their platform works — there's no option to pledge your own amount, only what's available as a tier.

Outside of people with insane weed tolerances who can't get high with normal weed is there an actual reason to smoke wax? Like dude, you ever see someone that high? It's like someone on heroin. Zonked out and braindead. Totally boring. What is the appeal? I understand the appeal of moderate to high doses of normal weed because you can still usually hangout and interact with the people you smoke with. Why would I want to be that high unless I was nodding out in some room alone?

Digi has released a new music video. The lyrics are mostly unintelligible because the instrumentals are so loud, but it appears to mostly be a celebration of being a degenerate who does hard drugs and wax all day while being celebrated by his "underground fan base" :story:
Nah I'm not giving that even one extra view.

I agree, my rule of thumb is: if I can still follow what goes on in a movie or series, can still hold a meaningful conversation or still play multiplayer games then I'm just high enough. I just want a buzz during the weekend. Totally avoids withdrawal (which is a total bitch if you've been a pothead for a long time; believe me I got myself off that a year ago). I must say landing a job which requires me to head to the office killed all my willingness to go down that road again. Good riddance, daily smoking.

The reason quitting after using that much sucks ass is because everything will be boring as fuck for a month and time will seem to move hella slow. Add to that some or all of the following: headaches, loss of apatite, irritability, general feeling of malaise or the constant urge to visit a dispensery/ring your dealer. For Digi I'd say the withdrawal will take even longer and will be even worse. I highly suggest him tapering off first. He might just kill himself when he comes to his senses though.
