My point is that changing the value of one input isn't going to result in that laundry list, or the US dollar turning into Zimbabwe bucks. The US economy is gigantic. Giving the banks $500B back in '08 didn't change the median salary of people working for banks or the cost of services they offer or even the price for a family office at Goldman's.


I obviously disagree. Look at the chart below. Wage stagnation is reality. It very well may be that men are too retarded to negotiate their own salary, but I cannot believe that side of the equation is solely to blame. The only reason why women aren't flatlined is due to the ERA.

Wage stagnation started to occur when large numbers of women entered the workforce, functionally doubling the pool of people competing for the available work. If there's suddenly twice the number of people offering to the do the same amount of work, businesses can keep wages flat, or even roll them back. We've seen this multiple times, when market labour contractions have occurred, and people have been forced to accept wage reductions to retain jobs, or mass layoffs have been required because wages can't be lowered.
