That might be a good move, if they do it right. Bring in streamers with an existing audience. Make the streams free with limited chat and VOD access. Full archive and chat for regular subscribers. More community services if you subscribe to the individual streamers. Maintain official clip channels on other video services, and maybe even have some streams there once in a while, to bring in new viewers.

You and me both but that's the game that these indies play. They're playing the long con for asspats and doing fucking nothing while hyping up a reveal that will never be.
The only excuse I can see is if someone has hired a rigger and that shit takes weeks of work to complete, depending on how good you want it to be. Even then those people will just be "PNG Streamers" and have a light-up Discord overlay so that they're actually streaming while updating people on model progress. These people are fine. This is why I really admired Calli's take on the whole matter because she was saying what a lot of people in the indie community are thinking. These indies need to shit or get off the pot.
Chances are the model isn't finished. Also the sad thing is that they actually do reach those follower milestones. Just fucking stream.
It's somewhat warranted in some cases to at least filter those fucks out of the audience, and in the case of the "flashing imagery" that one actually is a major health concern for epileptic people. CDPR didn't include that warning in their EULA and nearly gave a Cyberpunk reviewer a seizure.

Most people who know they're the same person refer to them as if they're two different people. The simple answer is yes. The complex answer is "most of them are." There are a lot of transgender vtubers (a few I know are currently undergoing proper procedures) and there are also a lot of troons who do it as well. Usually you'll see them have the trans flag emote somewhere in their username because they can't help but broadcast it, and there have been more than a few clout chasing accounts that have "trans vtubers appreciation" threads, which will get filled up like fucking crazy. Probably the oddest I see is a lot of them are trans female lesbians which to me is...a straight guy who thought they'd fare better if they were a girl instead. More power to them if they actually have gender identity issues they're actively working on fixing but a lot of them don't and prefer to pretend to be lesbians.

She is a Japanese vtuber from WACTOR who debuted in 2018 and has a decent number of subs for someone not very well known outside Japan (or at least not known to me). She will be also a character in Neptunia Virtual Stars video game, with many other vtubers. She also has a greeting video in English, but few more of her videos are in Spanish - I thought she was only reading something written for her, but maybe she really has some Spanish speaking skills.
Gibara's return to monke chimpout reactions are one of my favourite vtuber clips ever. I have played a gacha game only once in my life (the one with Deep Web Underground vtuber in it), never spent any money on it and I want to keep away from them as much as possible.
The song and the vtuber are both great, so I have listened it like five times in a row.
Cover is rolling the dice with these short videos and now with popular songs to get a viral hit on their own (instead of random clippers) and I'm okay with this - meme movies are usually approx. 30 seconds long and songs are nice to listen, win/win.
If he is able to untangle the slang, I would be very interested to read it. Chinese love to use nicknames for basically everything, so good luck to him.

Peaked my interest. The thumbnail straight up says ''I'm a Vtuber that speaks Spanish''. Turns out she has just memorized 3-4 Spanish phrases and, even though she speaks those well, she can't actually speak spanish. This is confirmed in the following 2 streams. She's just using a TL tool on screen to communicate with chat.
Guess she saw how English speaking audience was booming and thought maybe there's a Spanish niche that she can take advantage of. No shame in that but she's outright baiting and she isn't really learning Spanish like Uto is learning english for real. Will she someday? Maybe, it is kinda cute listening to JPs speaking spanish coz it is a language they can properly pronounce unlike engrish.
It's funny (yet predictable) that the chat is a shit show. Half the comments on the video are on the lines of ''GUYS please keep it civil, and don't bring so much shame to our community''. That's the thing tho, it's an insufferable audience. I've personally never engaged spanish speaking content or communities for that reason. People are generally uneducated and obnoxious. Also the whole internet culture is 1-2 years behind. We adopt mostly from english memes and sometimes even create good ones but that's a seldom occurrence.

What I find strange is that her family is fine with her doing this, but not making loud noises while streaming.
No fucking excuse for the slow-burn reveal though. Why, the PNG isn't finished?
If they still have money after whatever the hell they were last funding, I guess. It's probably less expensive than having something hand-animated, though the real roadblock is probably technical. If they can't fix their player I can't see them implementing superchats or making models properly.
