my bets: Super lockdown for 100 days then after that covid magically becomes a nothingburger bc biden saved the day from orange mans china virus!

super lockdown and when numbers go down like they do after every flu season partial opening because there's no excuse anymore, with a new superstrain next november or "we beat evil viruz!" even with half the population still waiting for vaccination.

I don't watch tv often. Like an hour a day when eating dinner with my grandma and chilling after.
but I've noticed a huge amount of commercials for online therapy and antidepressants and shit.
I bet big pharma is lining their pockets good and fat with all this...(:_(

PS anyone tried online therapy. I'm very hesitant to try it but...
Don't, it's a scam. Google Better Help Scandal.
Look around your state for a competent therapist that takes your insurance. They mostly do Zoom calls these days, so it's basically online anyway.

Also, not to be a boomer, but the best forms of therapy are the classics; sunlight, nature, exercise, healthy eating, unplugging from the Internet for a bit. Even just taking Vitamin D and C supplements can make a major difference. Most actual therapists are just paid to sit there and nod along to whatever you say anyway.

Go hiking or hunting or build a log cabin instead. Therapy does nothing but make you stew over your problems and offers no catharsis. Find something to achieve or accomplish, it's way cheaper than getting hooked on anti-depressants.

I have no insurance. But I won't PL anymore but i was wondering more about how zoom meetings with therapists work. Personally I'd rather have 0 sessions than a zoom session but idk.

And yeah. Weathers been nice here to actually go on long walks. Been trying to work out a little, eat better and take vitamins (tho I stopped recently bc theyve been hurting my tummy :( And i feel a bit better physically (thus helping me mentally a bit), but unfortunately there's legit shit I need to work through. I tend to agree about therapists in general tho

Too late. parents put me on em when I was a wee lass, and I desperately want to get off of them. I die a little inside any time i see a commercial for antidepressants bc of how awful they legit are. God damn people just talk to your kids, lul. Unless your kid/friend/partner/whatever is legit phsycotic don't put them on this shit unless its a last resort.

Would that the log cabin route were cheaper.

Unironically: Talk therapy can be useful. If you’re dealing with depression or anxiety, it can give you useful coping skills. It can also help you look at things differently in a way that makes them easier to bear, or help you figure out why X or Y is something that drives you crazy. Doing it online is pretty much the same as any other video communication. Different therapists are of different quality.

Also (since I am aware of where this conversation is happening) look up or ask about your jurisdiction’s rules regarding when therapists may be required to report you to the police. This is usually only reserved for if they think you’re seriously a threat to yourself or others. You can ask them about this before a session. It’s okay to talk about having violent or suicidal thoughts, etc., sure. Usually better to make it clear that you’re not discussing any plans you intend to act on on the near future. Talking can be helpful.

@teriyakiburns: they already are. I've had three people in my social circle off themselves. No warning really for any of them, they seemed to be coping okay. I went grocery shopping early this morning, asked the checkout lass how she was ans she just burst into floods of tears.

People were at breaking point weeks ago and now its hitting home just how fucked we are.
Yeesh. But you can bet most people will knuckle under instead of doing something more pro-active, because the constant isolation removes their ability to think in terms of spontaneous group activity, which is a necessary part of organising against oppression. That's the break I'm really worried about: the entire population just giving up and turning into bugmen.

We’re definitely, finally entering the USA’s NEET / hikkikomori stage. All the conditions are there: widespread hopelessness, disconnection from others, no economic prospects for entire generations. This covid thing ain’t helping either.

Especially in the uk where so many are being paid by the government but not in bennies, via the job retention scheme.

Have you all noticed that children arent particularly in risk when dealing with this virus? And yet they are the ones that are among the ones the most fucked over by this whole thing?

I can only imagine just how many will be permanently affected by this and they wont be allowed to raise awareness of this because it will dare suggest that daddy government was wrong.

We probably wont be allowed to adknowledge that this whole thing was a disaster for at least a few decades, when most of the boomers responsible for it have kicked the bucket and cant be held responsibile anymore...

Fuck...
If there's one thing that's been made abundantly clear throughout this, it's that no one actually gives a single fuck about children, people with legit disabilities, or indeed, old people wasting away alone in nursing homes.

My sister had to have a blood test at the local hospital today, they checked her temperature and because it was 1 frigging degree above norm (she was rushing to the appointment and had wrapped up warm with woolly hat etc.), they refused her entry and said she had to have a covid test. So mum drives her to the mobile gassing testing center and the chucklefucks running it put mum's name down instead of the sisters, so they both decided to have the test anyway. After doing the tonsil/nose swabs, their mark of the beast ID's were checked by a fat sweaty bloke who had the bare minimum PPE.

All they've had is an intermittent runny nose for the past few months, we shall see if they get added to the statistics tomorrow.

Biden’s team is worried the COVID-19 pandemic is spiraling out of control, imperiling his promise to contain the outbreak (Bloomberg)
Now its America's turn to get some of that gay-ass European over-reactive treatment. They're going to make us bleed all the way to May. Spiraling out of control: I've still only known one person who has supposedly had it and been sick. They are a middle-aged chainsmoking obesoid who gets the flu every year. As they say, this is one of the biggest psyops ever.

In @PunchbowlNews AM — Democrats do not expect to be able to send @JoeBiden a Covid relief bill until early March.
By the time that arrives that $2000 that Trump wanted that was jewed down to $1400 will be further eroded down to $1000 and then finally land at $400 once it hits out pockets.

Even with the white house, senate and congress in their hands, they're still going to find a way to fuck things up, aren't they?

To our untrained eyes it will be seem fucked-up, it will feel fuck-edup, it will be fucked-up. To the ears of the experts and string-pullers it will be like a beautiful symphony, a symphony of pain that will purify us into the permantently powerless cattle class they desire. So, err, fuckedupedness is in the eye of the beholder or something?
