Fuck I remember in 2008 my friends "campaigning" for Obama (basically my city had too fucking many people working that they couldnt even organize, rooms were overcrowded so we just hung around the office, took a box of the free donuts and left to go smoke cigarettes outside) and we came across this DA who came up to us and did the whole "GOOD TA SEE YOUNG PEOPLE IN POLITICS I TELLYA" and then went into his campaign pitch, but the whole time, after he had started shaking my friends hand, he would not fucking let go of his arm. Theyre ALL like that.

I can kind of understand, because nobody wants to sit there for 5 minutes at like an Obama event or something listening to some other politician trying to network or sell his shit, so they have to hold you down.

Not gonna lie, I was never a fan of Trump, but I honestly just feel bad for him at this point. He completely played himself by entering politics, and it has backfired for him spectacularly.

I disagreed with this post because it has become increasingly clear over time that he never intended to fulfill any his promises. Not only that but the Stop the Steal grift netted him hundreds of millions of dollars that he never intended to use towards the cause people donated for. Not to mention how hundreds of millions of dollars of campaign funding disappeared.

He duped his base, ripped them off for as much as he could, and gave them the middle finger on the way out the door. I don’t feel bad for him at all. He’s a piece of shit who will go down as one of the worst, most ineffective presidents ever. Nigga is going to be in the same tier as James Buchanan and Warren Harding.

I haven't done a Trump history deep dive in a while, and someone had asked about Trump University. As we have so many newbies to the thread who clearly have little to no knowledge of who the man was prior to 2016, let's talk about one of his many many failed ventures!

Trump University was started in 2004 by Trump and Michael Sexton. Sexton wanted to just license the name (because Trump would sell his name to literally anything and anyone like a proper whore), but Trump was like "Nahh I want to be in on scamming unsuspecting people", so held 93% ownership. He made it out like he, as a billionaire "had enough money" (lol) and " put his famous brain to work for the little guy" (LOL). Like any accredited university, the first class you took (around $1500) was solely to sell you on taking further classes (upwards of $35000!!!). I mean, who doesn't remember day 1 of Calc 101 being all about making you sign up for Calc 102 at an inflated price? The prices were so high, they claimed, so that “you assume personal responsibility for doing the work.” Totally not to line Trump's pockets.

Trump claimed that he would turn you into a real estate investor, but he had almost nothing to do with the actual instruction. He claimed in the infomercial he hand selected the instructors, but then in a later deposition that he had nothing to do with it. He essentially used his notoriety as a "billionaire" to dupe people who had few options and didn't know better into handing him tens of thousands of dollars for a "degree" that meant less than nothing. The tactics used were the same used in Scientology and NXIVM (though thankfully minus the sex slavery).

Essentially, this follows Trumps MO to a T. Convincing the downtrodden that he is the one who will help them, taking their money, then when the law gets involved, passing the buck and denying he had anything to do with it.

That will be a party solely for Trumpers. He cannot win on his fan base alone. People like to act like all 70 million votes were 100% yeah pro Daddy Trump!! Not considering the many “at least he’s not a Democrat” votes. All he’ll do is split the party and hand the next election to the Dems.

It's extremely unlikely because there's a lot of people who will vote Republican (and I mean, party wise, Republican) no matter who the candidate is. I also think he pissed off A LOT of people by 1.) encouraging the Capitol riot and then 2.)Throwing those rioters under the bus as fast as possible.

I think he's likely fucked.
