Republicans are always surprised that the tactic of calling out the other side for their hypocrisy doesn't work for them when it does for the Democrats when they have the Cathedral on their side, and this would be no different. The Republicans would be excoriated for destroying the economy out of political spite and it would never occur to the majority that Democrats did exactly that and got away with it.
It is safe to assume that any Republican that doesn't toe the line will be cut off from the gravy train. They all understand that. We'll still get the show of opposition, but the trajectory of the nation will be traveling unimpeded in one direction regardless.

I find anything the WHO does to be suspicious because it's become a bullshit political organization led by a piece of shit who didn't even care enough about the health of his own country when he was in charge of it. But I don't see this being the moment that COVID becomes a nothingburger. Why did no one pay attention to it in December? Why did cases continue to rise globally despite the WHO already saying positivity is related to testing sensitivity if the WHO's influence is so significant?
