Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

I do not understand why Playstation Now gets so much disrespect these days. Streaming PS3 games works quite smoothly on my system and I have no buffering issues whatsoever.

You probably live in an area with good internet or are playing games that don't require frame perfect hits.

Streaming games is a nightmare for anything with quick QTE shit.

I'm quite a ways away from anywhere that could be a data center, and it worked great for me too. I managed to play the God of War remastered collection without a single problem. I think most of it is just the port begging cocksuckers on PC whining that Sony is only willing to meet them halfway instead of making their entire library piratable.

There's this notion I keep seeing from hardcore Souls fans that the games are actually really easy due to things like bosses telegraphing their attacks and exploitable mechanics.

As someone who's spent an ungodly amount of time trying and failing to get good at Dark Souls and considers himself a half-decent player of most video games, I think that's a little backwards. The game's not easy, you just got good enough to where the act of playing it has become easy. Sure, the bosses telegraph their attacks, but that won't mean anything if you suck at dodging (e.g. me).

There are specific patterns/conditions you can force onto a boss that will make them easier, typically. A lot of souls bosses, for example, are hard to dodge in melee but don't have a different attack pattern if you drop lockon and literally run in the other direction.

Consoles are becoming more like simplified PCs, with all of their disadvantages and none of their positives. Physical games require updates in order to be playable, most components are soldered into the board itself, the useage of proprietary components meaning replacing it, if possible, would be an expensive endeavour.
Not to mention the whole subscription services which is required to be purchased if you want to access the multiplayer portions of the game you have already bought.

Well shit, that's the kind of thing I wish I knew before getting my shit kicked in, which sums up my experience with Souls really. At the same time, I don't think that's the kind of thing new players are going to figure out unless they've either spent a lot of time analyzing how the bosses work or researching the intricacies of Souls mechanics (though with how much documentation there exists you have only yourself to blame unless you want to go in completely blind).

The new Hitman game Should have Mask DLC where a pandemic happens in this DLC so its like EZ mode but it lets you set off rube goldberg machines to destroy targets.

I don't see why people should invest into the Wii U as a homebrew machine.

"Oh, but it can play every console they've made! It can even play GameCube I tell you! GAMECUBE!"

Yeah, so can a Wii, frankly the Wii portion of the system's 90 percent of why the Wii U's a good homebrew machine, and you get a plain Wii for just half the price. The only thing that's a big lose from Wii U to Wii homebrew wise is DS emulation, and hey you have a extra hundred, you could spend that on a used 3DS. On the whole the 3DS/Wii combo I think's a much better option then Wii U for the price that they go.

Honestly I'm not all that sure where MHRise is going with it's battle systems.

This isn't the "classic" MH that everyone was claiming it was months before and it looks more like GU shit.

After spending some more time with the demo it looks like they took a ton of steps back with shit(especially the UI holy shit). World had the combat feel much more organic and smoother, people bitch about wall slamming but you couldn't chain it and monsters would enrage making wall slamming being impossible. Levels for Rise also look flat and barren as hell. There's always that one level in a MH that I didn't like but in World and Iceborne they were all pretty good.

I'm pretty sure the next game is going to be back on normal consoles and PC, the same shit happened with tri appearing on the wii before portable third came out on the PSP and then the final 3rd gen game came out on Wii-U before world came out in the west.

Just buy everything

Like I've got a PS4 and Switch and a Gaming PC.

I bet you have like 13 digital subscription services that you're not using. You could buy more games with that money instead of renting stuff that you will never own.

Agree honestly when I buy games on pc I usually buy it on steam and just get the cracked version without the drm and also it's not piracy since I already bought the game but that aside @Marissa Moira I recently bought ps2 and learned that there's some kind lag playing on a sony bravia 4k tv would like to the problem

The bravia lag can be fixed by resetting the TV, I've had it happen to me before. You can switch the settings and try different configs.

Also are you getting sound lag or just visual?

No mostly motion blur since I use av out on the tv (probably some thing to do with that) and it's mostly input lag maybe the ps2 to hdmi dongle might fix it which I have ordered (problem is it's taking a millennia for the package to come)

Twilight Princess is a shitload of fuck.

The world is devoid of life and even after you roll back the Twilight there is nothing to do and no way to help the kingdom. Characters are boring and interchangeable. Gameplay is by-the-numbers and represents the very worst of formulaic Zelda. And the tears of light segments are worse than the three Philips CD-i games combined.

The sky temple was okay and the boss of the arbiters ground was fun. Okami literally did everything better.

The Sif fight is a good moment, but the one in Farron Keep in DS3 is better;
the one where you fight the wandering demon and wail on his legs so hard that they crumble out from under him and he bellows with rage while wasting his dying breaths in a dying world crawling along he ground to try and crush you.

I liked Twilight Princess, but I was disappointed that you couldn't freely play music like you could in Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker.
