At some point someone called MCU "without substance" and Rags got triggered hard.

Timestamp? I honestly don't want to sit through a collection of the worst YTbers to get that autistic gold.

It really depends on the movie.

It really doesn't. The deepest movie is Civil War/Winter Soldier? I mean, not deep, at all. Nothing wrong with that. Monster Trucks and Big Macs don't need to justify anything. Fuck fine culture. Sometimes funs enough.

I don't think Thor Raganarok has much substance and is very much coasting on style, but something like Spider-Man Far from Home develops Peter into a more independent hero without Tony looking over his shoulder which is satisfying to see. Plus his relationship with Mysterio was good.

He's still Spideyboy.

Edit: Praise me for I couldn't resist. I ran through it. Fucking hell. I nailed it. Rags brought up Civil War and Homecoming and that fucking douche with the goatee brought up Winter Soldier. Civil War, easily one of the most contrived movies in the last twenty years. Where so much depends on the characters slapping each other around without listening. For someone who nitpicks superior films for far less....

Homecoming and deep don't belong in the same paragraph, let alone sentence.

It's less the look and more the character and how he's written. He's a child and so much of what makes Spider-man is missing from the Disney films. He's one of the few Marvel characters Disney has really failed to show respect for.

I'm nervous to see them take on the Fantastic Four now.

I know what you two are referring to, I just don't really fully agree with the argument. I like Tom as Spider-Man even if he was basically grafted onto the MCU in a fairly ungraceful manner. I will say that Homecoming and FFH were very lucky to have such great actors playing Vulture and Mysterio though. Helped prop the films up immensely.

Yes, they're one of Maulers biggest Stans on his Discord and royal ass kissers, the dude seems to have no real life and constantly talks about random people EFAP doesn't like on Twitter and their Discord and basically stalks all of them, and almost definitely reads this thread considering how die hard they are about monitoring EFAP's "enemies".

I wouldn't worry about FF for the most part. The Thing is the only one of that group Disney can fail to convey in the same way they don't know how to write the Hulk. Since Marvel movies need to have Whedon-speak comedy, the Thing and Hulk never really get the character scenes they actually need to work as leads.

Anyways, Iron-Lad has this weird juxtaposition to him. Civil War implies he's been doing this for a while and therefore should be fairly experienced, but then his character has to be a sidekick to Stark, so he has to be a wide-eyed teenager who doesn't have the responsibilities Parker is supposed to have. The result is crime-fighting really is just thrill-seeking to him and not a moral duty.

Not sure honestly, since he was a nobody and barely had any views IIRC before EFAP and didn't make many videos (which he seems to have either deleted or unlisted interestingly), but slowly transformed into dollar store Mauler. He was in chat for EFAP #27 when they reacted to a Mission Impossible video by RennsReviews, then debated the guy who made the video in the next EFAP instead of Mauler and Rags doing the debating. From what I remember he did seem like a know it all type and someone with an ego, so I guess appearing on EFAP boosted that 10x.

I dislike him far more than Rags, because unlike Rags he's never not 'on'.

Rags can at least be funny to laugh at. Southpaw and his faggot hair cut don't offer that. He's just an empty yes man who takes all of Mauler's positions without any of his wit or charm. Said wit and charm is what allows Mauler to get away with his worst excesses.

Yea ever since he first appeared I was annoyed by him, but jeez he seems to have gotten way worse, even worse than he was just a few months ago, definitely worse than Rags (at least Rags eventually shuts up and chills out). The last review he made was on Mulan 3 months ago, and the last video he made, which was a humorous video on a badly designed house was two months ago.
It seems he is going to make a very long review on Dr. Who very soon. Figures, considering that Twitter video he made with MauLer a few weeks ago.

MauLer is really by far the most intelligent, charismatic and 'normal' of the group. That's why he's not really a lolcow, at least not yet. He does, However, attract lolcows both major and minor to him. I think he is the embodiment of a group of lolcows. He is the ringmaster and they are the circus. Another methaphor is they and the viewers are a colony of naked mole rats and MauLer's the queen. That's also why I'm fine with us lumping MauLer, Rags, Jay, Southpaw, and his community and following together as one group in a single thread on Multimedia, since they are all attached at the hip for now. I'm still surprised there hasn't been a major schism yet. They are much more tight-knit than we give them credit for.

They are doing an EFAP on a negative review of Underwater, MauLer's new sacred cow. I'll give it a miss for now since it's Star Trek Movie Night.

I don't really follow any of them, but I've enjoyed what I've watched of Jay's stuff. Her Beauty and the Beast review was very much my speed, humour-wise.
