Nick really does hate the American South and that doesn't just stop with areas like Atlanta or Memphis. Instead he regularly denigrates the entire region and seems to equate cities like Nashville or Dallas with rural Alabama. He was fine with the hill billy comment because he feels the same way and has said way more offensive comments to fans himself. There was a report (may be fake, not the point) that when watching 1/6 unfold, Trump was upset at the appearance of those entering the Capitol - complaining they looked exactly how Ali and Nick say they do.
When justifying the electoral college they'll rightfully say we need the Iowa farmers and rust belt auto workers' vote to be factored in and not just those on coasts working on Wall St. or Silicon Valley. This statement is true for any area that has a decent university/high school in proximity. I know, it sucks. One's either left with extended travel times or having to live on borderline poverty due to the fucked up rent. Shared accommodation is also an option but honestly fuck that. The same happened to my area.
International students' fees are usually at least 3 times higher than a local though. I'd imagine those are the ones also renting such places.

More books for the Humanities stockpile, the History/Politics sperg in me thanks you. On a side note, I do understand that we as humans have always attempted to put ourselves into separate groups with common characteristics. As a matter of fact, I probably should have acknowledged in my earlier post that the Nation of Islam and the American Nazi Party respected each other (Rockwell and Farrakhan were friends, if I'm not mistaken) but still wanted to maintain that mutual separation between each other. They were both advocates for segregation, plain and simple. Whether it was based on cultural, political, social, or ethnic identities, this conflict is nothing new, and characters like Fuentes are testament to it not being completely erased any time soon. The optimist in me has always, and still will, pursue a future of respect and acceptance for everyone, but I will never deny the existence of the human tendencies we've both mentioned. I've long since learned not to simply categorize stuff like that as "bad" or "good", but as something that simply "is" within the human character.
On the bright side, at least we can still make fun of white nationalist Mexicans with Napoleon complexes!

The line stretched almost a whole block away from the store, so I just stood around and watched everybody. As I kept looking, I noticed a pair of Black women talking to a White guy. The women were lesbian partners with tattoos running up their necks and arms, and the guy looked like your stereotypical "God-fearing white country boy". All three of them were completely absorbed in a conversation on the best type of weapon for home defense, and they each shared their own reasons and concerns on how they would defend themselves if the rioting got to their homes. The conversation continued well after they finally got into the store, and everybody inside was even more spread out across the ethnic, religious, and age spectrum.
Cliché's be damned, they weren't treating each other with calculated distance or outright segregation, but as friendly, outgoing gun-enthusiasts.

People don't show their true opinions in public in a state which punishes you for expressing them. You don't start fights with niggers in the bread line unless you want to go home hungry.
