Which brings us to the real noodle scratcher: is this Phil projecting, as he sits under a 912 sub count and rewardless Patreon for content that hasn't changed or improved in years, or, is he actually projecting his own anger at Scopely for preying on his severe addiction.
It's a real train wreck when it isn't clear which is the case.

Phil's opinion bends with the wind, people in twitter weren't happy with the merge and so Phil decided it is a bad thing. He doesn't know what Blizz-Acti actually do so drawing on his huge knowledge of the two games Blizz makes that he's aware of, clearly didn't read the headlines that VV is being moved to the Diablo 2 remake because he only skims twitter between gatcha and hotdogs and totally forgets that Black Ops is published by Activsion.
More than likely he's chasing the clout-train with his less-than-impressive veiws that continue to underline how feeble Phil's critial thinking actually is.

Are there any games DSP is actually good at? Every video I've seen of him playing anything looks like he's a mediocre at best player.

He's was above average at the fighting games he dedicated his life to. Not above average in terms of people who are similarly devoted. Just above average among general players simply because not everybody in the world dedicates an entire stage of their lives and identity to Super Street Fighter II Turbo. There is not much evidence I'm aware of he is 'tournament level' even in SFII since his only significant dominance was the infamous evo incident and otherwise his career is unremarkable. Even at his 'peak' after Evo he went back to getting his ass kicked after reverting to the real SFIIT which is his supposed gold standard. And he gets regularly bodied by internet randoms in every fighting game today with a wider audience.

Nope, phils true expertise is not in video games but in gaming the system. If theres anything he's a master of its getting in and exploiting big dumb systems and dumb people. Its the secret to all the successes in his life. With a singleminded focus and uncommon lack of shame/hangups he homed in on fat lazy money by exploiting the youtube algorithm and he homed in on the chinks in the bankruptcy system. He spams the right buttons on paypigs skittering around at just the right level to make notoriety profitable but below the level that would bring the wrath of the internet's nonautomated attention. If you believe theres a SNIPPIT of truth in his high school stories, the American education system, especially the lower levels, is definitely something that can be exploited to do far better in than you deserve.

Its remarkable how similarly he plays life like he plays games. Get in find the laziest weak points or pattern and spam them over and over again as long as possible. His career and even his fake fambly is like one big God of War axe throwing or Dark Souls Lighting spear spamming or Ken flow chart session.

I don't think its a matter of superior wisdom. Its more that an ordinary person has a ton of subconscious hangups or standards depending on how you look at it.

Phil is not really married to any philosophy aside from self interest and surface projection. At the same time while he is unmoored from ethics he's also detached from certain conventional ways of thinking

And its enabled him to take steps and do things that others don't consider. Most people wouldn't have the gall to gamble on hitting it big as a lazy youtuber who points his camera at a tv or hit up mentally disabled paypigs year after year, they'd feel shame after bankruptcy and not want to game it, even if they have an overall negative view of the government. Theres good and bad hangups/standards that prevent people from 'achieving' some of the things phil does. Most people hopefully want to be good and contribute to society but at the same time most people have a preconceived notion of what success is and how you reach it.

Obviously Phil is a messed up person but I think the extremely generic idea of reevaluating some of the conventional ways you are thinking and whether they are beneficial to you can be taken while still trying to be morally conscious. A good person for instance could and many have used sober unmoored evaluation to overcome the early conventional bias about the viability of internet careers to bring great KHANTENT to the masses rather than ride the lazy wave as long as possible.
