General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Yeah i probably read to deep into it, mostly because i was getting annoyed of her suicide baiting ,would have been more accurate if i had the video
Well, she actually kind of took the opposite route lower down, talked bout how she doesn't want to die anymore and that the fans should be calm and rest assured. I'm pretty sure that comment earlier on regarding the album was hyperbolic, 'I could die happy' kind of thing. So hopefully she gets past it, but the only way to do that is to talk about it.
Another good bit of insight from the Chans on what Peko might be going through:
I read this one. It might have some truth to it. A combination of a brick wall, bad tact, massive imposter syndrome, and a feeling of being overwhelmed by having such a large fandom. Probably all just came to a head for her. She needs time to process things a bit better. I don't know if it's going to be a month, but maybe a few days.

So the gist I'm getting from what happened with Pekora is this. She wanted to do stuff for her fans, have some sort of prize lottery. She also asked for a larger budget for game stream licenses so she could play more/different games. I'm guessing this was what the call was about (it was denied).

She mentions that she was/is considering turning off superchats even though she understands that it's basically her salary, because A. She feels like she can't give anything in return and B. She doesn't understand what management uses it on.

Some guy clipped a part of it, don't understand any of it but it honestly just makes me sad hearing her like this. And I'm not even a big Pekora fan.

Yeah that seems to be the deal. There's even some comments in the community tab on her YT channel from some working-class Nousagis giving her advice on how to talk to mgmt in the future.

So I guess what her member mod, Kuu., was saying earlier checks out too, talking about bad managerial habits and whatnot. The gall of her manager to call her mid-SC reading and basically tell her "we ain't doing that shit, fuck you" is pretty crass. She does have a point though, what exactly is the point of collecting SCs if Cover isn't using the money for the betterment of their content? I feel like they may spend just a *little* too much on the big concerts and not enough on the ground-level stuff, as there was also that clip of Marine during her 1M celebration stream where she said she wants to do a "big project" to celebrate but management refused to help her pay for any but a small sliver of it.

Basically I assume it's middle-management being annoying bureaucratic assholes, as is true for almost any job. Every job I've ever had, the top brass are good people but the middle-managers are annoying assholes who keep getting in the way of stuff, and I'd bet Cover is no exception. Yagoo is a nice guy so I'm sure if it were up to him he'd approve some of this stuff, but that's not how it works.

I heard Pekora is taking a one-month hiatus to calm down and recollect but I have no good sources on that. If someone can help out with that, please do.

That was uuuhhhh , she is really very naïve in some aspects of life

  1. She start by saying that she wish to be a man so dont have to deal with periods, there goes my image of seiso
  2. Naivety start here, she is starting to sound like a edgelord saying that doesnt need any friends
  3. Believe that the only merit for having a boyfriend/girlfriend is just sex
  4. Wank this Aoi chick a lot
  5. Admit that the Aloe posters sometimes slip by her ridiculous spree of deleting comments and that "she is used to"
  6. Weird part here, she says that she has broken with several friends and never talked to them again, also say that having female friends is a bother because there is a high chance that they would talk behind her back aka they would be bitches to her
  7. Her self steem goes to the fuck with a marshmallow asking that if she was a guy she would date herself, she say no way in hell, but im noticing that she absolute love to pin the blame to her household situation for everything, because that's the thing she use to not do anything, is a little annoying
  8. Say that dating her would be a pain in the ass, yeah go figure
  9. Admit that the reason she use shitload of effects is because she hate her voice, that would explain why she mostly stick to Vocaloid songs
  10. Says that her favorite ice cream is Yukimi daifuku, there is a little irony in there
  11. Goes the full edgelord package saying that she doesnt want to have kids
  12. Say that as long as she can finish the album she doesnt care about anything else even dying
  13. She actually waste a lot of time deleting youtube comments
  14. She mention her downfall from Hololive like 5 times
  15. Suicide baiting, she does this A LOT
  16. At least she admit her menhera tendencies
  17. Try to admit that she is not a NEET but a Freeter aka a glorified Freelancer

Is like reading a 12 years diary but in video and in Japanese
Said it before and I'll say it again, you try being a young, mentally (and physically) unwell girl from a totally broken household and then go through what she went through with The Aloe Incident and see how you feel, lol. Regardless, some of that is taken out of context.

West Taiwan is mad at Hero Hei for defending hololive I guess?

Sure.
Sorry for the quality, just grabbed whatever popped up first.

Yea I heard about the one-month break too. I'm not sure if the message came from her manager. When she was about to come out to her mother that she's a VTuber, she was talking about her back-and-forth with her manager and they seem to be on good terms. Again, I highly doubt her manager would contact her in the middle of broadcast to break that news to her, but I wouldn't put it past them.

About spending stuff on content, I get that they'd have to spend a bit more on getting their content bigger as opposed to concerts. However there's what, over 20 of them right? + HoloStars + support staff. I'm sure their budget is limited with what they can help out too and I'm not sure where they're getting their revenues from. I doubt the concerts and stuff alone would support their business model. In addition, don't talents also get a flat salary on top of their cuts from memberships and superchats?

Not true according to my source, she sound more bummed that she cant give her simps anything, it remind me of when Interns got reminded that no, they are not employees and no they opinion literally doesnt matter back when in worked in the oil industry

Yeah, must be the difference in cultures that im not used to her whining, life is always tough here from day 1, you get used to very quickly or join the statistic, im surprised that she managed to pass the casting process, probably she managed to do it because she had her mates wrangling her or something

Edit: Ina got attacked by the ISP ninjas, no stream today

What I'm pretty sure happened is that middle management isn't allowed to change the budget on the fly. So when they set up the thing, they never considered adding an item for "random vtuber expenses". After all, from the management's perspective, the concept is ridiculous. Who's going to decide what's important and what's not? How's it going to be allocated between the talents? It's just an allowance with extra limitation, so why not just add it to their stipend? Since they're Japanese they don't take kindly to "creative accounting" to make room for things, thus something like this happens.

Still, the manager really shouldn't have called mid-stream like that. I hope there's some accountability regarding this.
Suisei about to do an English singing stream

It just occurred to me that's it's 5am in Japan. Are Coco and Anemachi going to appreciate the wakeup call? Smart of her to do an unarchived english stream before her mom is awake to shit on it I guess.

Edit: Her voice can go surprisingly deep! Amazing.

Oh my fucking stars. She starts with I Want it That Way. I love the Comet.

Suisei singing backstreet boys gave me a fit of laughter, jeez that Inonaka experience paid tenfold

What is the limit of the contractual NDA between an agency an a streamer? Say for example Pekora "retires". Is that person allowed to go about her life saying "yes I was the voice for Pekora" or do they have to, I dunno fucking take that secret to the grave?

Her pronunciation is all over the place, but the voice is impressive as hell.
There's a lot less of her accent than you'd expect given her normal english, but you can hear her dropping the consonants at the end of certain words, making it sound slightly slurred. What I'm curious about now is just how large her vocal range is.

Edit: There's a little more of the accent when she gets to difficult parts it seems.
"Moves Like Jagger" is next.
Is she going to do Christina Aguilera's verses?
EVIDENTLY SO
